Sean Hogan’s
Americana Debut Hits
Top 40
Canadian roots rocker Sean Hogan proudly joined the US Americana Top 40 Chart at #35 as the highest debuting artist US release, ‘Ruled By Mercury’.  The Americana Airplay chart represents the reported play of terrestrial radio stations, nationally syndicated radio shows, satellite radio and internet stations who have agreed to submit weekly spin counts.  Well over 30 stations in the US are playing ‘Ruled By Mercury’ and with a Top 5 added spot this week the list is growing.

“To be joining the same play lists as artists I have looked up to like Delbert McClinton, Radney Foster, Steve Earle, Willie Nelson , and even Bruce Springsteen, is truly a major personal and professional milestone for me,” according to Hogan.  Hogan, the singer-songwriter, is equally proud to be joining the ranks of other young roots troubadours and friends including Mike Plume and Fred Eaglesmith, who have also managed to break internationally with their own unique brand of “Canadiana” music.  Currently, Hogan is in Canada on tour with the Huron Carole in British Columbia, preparing for an Australian tour in January 2003, booking North American festivals and clubs and exploring European opportunities.

  • First single release, "I'd Rather Have You" off most recent Canadian release ‘Late Last Nite’, went Top ten.
  • Second year in a row won West Coast Music Award for Best Country album.
  • April  saw a few weeks of personal non career joy when Hogan became a Dad for the second time as he and his wife Diane had Tess Alexandra Hogan on the 17th of April.
  • Top twenty video with single #2 "Come Another Fine Day" from ‘Late Last Nite’.
  • A recording/business trip to Nashville in June inspired Hogan to release a debut album, ‘Ruled By Mercury’ to the U.S. Americana music industry in September.  This went out to the Americana music industry including radio which has just recently (as of time of this e-mail) placed Sean in the Top 40 of U.S. Americana artists on the format at radio.
  • Hogan has played every major Country Music  Festival in Canada including the Havelock Jamboree and the London Country Jamboree to mention a couple from this past year and he can't wait to do them all again.
  • Hogan just landed what looks now like more than one song on the forth coming solo album by one of Canada's most prominent female Country artists, Beverley Mahood.
