VALENTINES Day was a very special day for me, as I was invited to sing a Love Song on Channel 7's the Morning Show...

Hey Everyone,
Hope you're all well. Since I last wrote, I've been bogged in mud in Gympie, appeared on Channel 7's sunrise, driven from Sydney to Albury and back for a show at the Kinross Woolshed (and on the way found the best vanilla slice in NSW - possibly Australia), supported James Blundell, handed my Golden Saddle crown over to Nikki Gillis at the Galston Music Festival, was nominated at the Country Music Achiever awards, flew to Perth and back for a show, caught the flu, and subsequently slept for 3 days...(i wonder why) is that it?? Oh well, I'm having a good time!

The album is going strong, still sitting in the ARIA charts, and I am very proud to say the single has spent 3 weeks at Number 3 on the radio charts - which is so exciting!! And to top that it also spent a week at Number 1 on the Country Music Channel charts!! It's really cool to look back on that unassuming Saturday one year ago when I wrote 'Things That Bring Me Down'...wondering if it could even make my album, let alone climb the charts.. I had pizza and champagne (more things that bring me down) with my family to celebrate my first number one!!

My new single is out in 3 weeks - and the new clip is being filmed on Monday...so I'll be in touch soon to remind you to start voting!!! The new single is Gonna Fly...if you haven't got the album yet, you can have a listen to the track on www.myspace.com/amberlawrence1

I hope you can make it to a show soon! The band is rocking, and we're having lots of fun on the road : )
Check out my website www.amberlawrence.com.au  for more information.

Well, that's all for now, i've become mildly addicted to the TV series Grey's Anatomy...so that's where I'm headed!

Take care
Amber

Hey There,
I hope you are well! I must say I'm feeling great, and having fun at the moment, because finally I 'have launched'. I've got to be careful to get the letters around the right way...that's launched (not lunched)...yes, we've officially launched my debut album 'The Mile'.

Thank you to everybody who has emailed to say they've got it (and like it...even better!).... It's really exciting to see it in the shops, and my mum got so excited that she went to our local music shop at Eastgardens and bought one. I told her that I could have given her one , but I think she just enjoyed being able to buy my very first album. This then meant that she had to spend $180 getting a CD player installed in her car cause she only had a tape deck before that! Good Mum hey!

I'd love to hear what your fave song is, as we're currently deciding on the second single (so I'm taking votes : )...
The first single "things that bring me down" is currently number 4 on the country music channel...so I do have a request...if you have a spare minute today, please log on to CMC www.countrymusicchannel.com.au  and give it one last vote to get it up those last few rungs!
and it's number 12 on the Country Tracks Radio Charts...so please keep asking your local radio station to play it!!

In other news, I'm pretty busy with shows, and will be visiting Cooma, Canberra, Sutherland, Dapto, Blacktown, Gympie, Albury, Figtree, Canterbury, Dee Why, Galston, Perth (WA), Wyong, Deniliquin, Petrie (QLD), Jimna (QLD) and everywhere in between over the next few months...so if these tow
ns are anywhere near you, please check out the gig guide on www.amberlawrence.com.au

Also, you may already know, but you can read all of the stories behind the songs on 'The Mile' by logging on to my website.. and samples of the songs are just about to be added (so you can try before you buy : )

Well though t's freezing here in my hometown of Mascot, I hope it's nice and warm where you are, and I hope to see you at a show soon!
Cheers
Amber
PS - Late mail...i just found out I got nominated for Independent Country Entertainer of the Year!! I can't believe it, but I am very excited - the awards will be announced in September.

The Winner of the Cooper’s Golden Saddle Award for 2006 is Sydney based Artist AMBER LAWRENCE.

Due to inclement weather the Galston Country Music Festival was moved to the Galston Club where supported by a capacity crowd all three Grand finalists Sweeney/Killeen, Karen Lynne and Amber Lawrence gave a stunning performance. In a very close call it was decided that this year’s winner was to be the very talented up and coming artist Amber Lawrence. Amber received a Cash Prize and Certificate courtesy of the Rotary club of Galston, a Voucher courtesy of Ramrod Recording Studios, Publicity courtesy of our sponsors The Independent Country Music Bulletin and a Golden Saddle courtesy of Cooper’s Brewery and the Galston Country Music Festival. Amber will also be invited back to the festival as a very special guest in 2007.

Request my song on CMC - 'THE LONELY ROAD' that would be greatly appreciated.

Amber Lawrence ….. taking ‘The Lonely Road’
Following the success of AMBER LAWRENCE’s debut single I’ve Got the Blues, comes her second release, The Lonely Road (NFS 104). Ironically, the road to success in the Country Music industry has been anything but lonely for Amber, who is fast becoming recognised as one of country music’s outstanding new talents, with a real strength as a performer!

Amber has had an amazing start to her country music career with a 2005 Star Maker Grand Final berth culminating in a TIARA nomination for the Michael Cowdroy Memorial Songwriting Award. Tamworth 2006 saw audiences flocking to Amber’s live shows, and the release of The Lonely Road will undoubtedly see her popularity grow.

Written by Amber, The Lonely Road describes the journey of a broken heart. The song brilliantly showcases Amber’s emotive vocals, and leaves no doubt as to her ability to communicate through her song delivery and writing. A video clip for The Lonely Road is also about to released to Country Music Channel.

The Lonely Road is currently available for sale as part of a 4 track EP through Onestop Entertainment and through Amber's website www.amberlawrence.com
I have been nominated for a Golden Saddle Award, with the winners announced in September.

From CMAA
Country music entertainment got a whole lot better when it was announced that Travis Collins, Samantha McClymont and Amber Lawrence would be performing together as the Toyota Star Maker Show.

Held in Tamworth each January, Toyota Star Maker has long been recognised as Australia’s premier country music talent quest, and has launched the careers of Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, and Beccy Cole.

The Toyota Star Maker Show presents a night of diverse country music at its best. The stars will perform their own songs as well as crowd pleasers by Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, George Jones, Keith Urban and Gretchen Wilson amongst others. The Toyota Star Maker Tour promises to be an evening to remember; a dynamic show that country music fans will love.

2004 Toyota Star Maker winner Travis Collins was born to be on stage. He is country music’s hottest new act and his debut album Start The Car has just been released by ABC Music. It’s already receiving reviews like “Amazing debut album…solid and believable with a clear sense of direction…Collins’ performance is outstanding” - Country Update. He’s just launched his album on main stage at the Gympie Muster in Qld and his single 1000 Memories is racing up the radio chart. It reached #4 on the CMC Video Chart and Travis is one of those artists you just know is destined for big things.

Sam McClymont is the 2005 Toyota Star Maker winner and the dynamic 19-year-old has been eagerly awaiting her crack at country music stardom since she was a kid. Now the Grafton local has moved to Sydney and is grasping the opportunity with both hands. ABC Music released her debut single, Cookin’ In My Kitchen and it reached #3 on the radio chart and was also top five on the CMC Video Chart. Her second single The Heart Of A Man has just gone to radio and Sam’s just finished filming a video clip with award winning director Ross Wood.

City girl Amber Lawrence, who hails from Sydney, started singing professionally after her 21st birthday and has started work on her debut album. The singer/songwriter impressed the Toyota Star Maker judges in Tamworth as an entertaining performer and delivers enthusiasm, honesty and humour. Having recently performed the National Anthem for the Prime Minister, John Howard, Amber’s career has taken her throughout NSW, QLD, New Zealand and even New Caledonia.

Amber Lawrence Has ‘Got the Blues’!

Talented performer Amber Lawrence may be singing the blues, but this rising country music star certainly isn't feeling blue about the release of her single, ‘I've Got the Blues’.

Audiences have really taken to the song during Amber's energetic live performances and radio presenters and listeners are sure to love the track. A soon-to-be-released video clip of the song, filmed in a pub on the shores of Botany Bay, is bound to get lots of attention also.

‘I've Got the Blues’ is a fresh contemporary country song with a traditional bluesy flavour, which showcases Amber's impressive vocal ability.

The radio release, along with the video clip, will give new audiences an insight into Amber’s sassy vocal performing style as well as her talents as a songwriter.

The past two years have been very successful for Amber Lawrence, with grand-final appearances in the 2005 Toyota Starmaker Quest and the 2004 Telstra Road to Tamworth, plus plenty of touring and performing along the way.

Amber’s previous song, ‘The Lonely Road’ received wide-spread acclaim and radio airplay, but ‘I've Got the Blues' is the first official single release from this graduate of the 2004 CMAA College of Country Music.

‘I've Got the Blues’ is currently available for sale as part of a 4 track EP through Amber's website
www.amberlawrence.com , and at gigs.

Amber saying G'day to Troy Cassar-Daley at Festival

For city girl Amber Lawrence, 2004 has been a big year. The young entertainer has only been singing professionally for 4 years but has made a big impact in a short time. Having been announced as a finalist for the 2005 Toyota Starmaker quest, the future continues to look bright for Amber!

Amber burst onto the country music scene in 2003 with a win at the Newcastle heat of the Telstra Road to Tamworth. The final was held at the 2004 Tamworth Country Music Festival, with Amber thrilled to be one of the five entrants to make it through to the Grand Final, singing her heart out to narrowly miss winning the grand prize.

Amber, who graduated from the prestigious CMAA Australian College of Country Music in 2004 is a dynamic performer who is known for her ability to engage audiences with enthusiasm, honesty and humour. Her stage presence is one of her strongest assets.

With extensive experience as a performer, Amber has toured with country industry greats Brendon Walmsley, Jim Haynes and Michael Carr as part of the Australian Country Muster on Tour.

Amber has also performed as part of the Electric Cowgirls – a trio of females who made their debut at the 2004 country music festival. She was also a long serving member of Sydney showband The Family Von Trapp, and left the band in 2004 to concentrate on her country music career.

She recently performed the national anthem for the Prime Minister, John Howard, which she counts as one of her career highlights to date.
