- Bill Chambers Sessions continue to
sizzle at The Pub
There were some special guests both on and off stage at The Pub on
Saturday at the famed Bill Chambers Sessions.
Right over the weekend this continued to be the case at the
Gunnedah Rd hotel, where the entertainment began with The Young
Balladeers on Friday at 4pm, and continued through until Bill
Chambers sang his final song just after 7 on Sunday evening.
Bill’s guests over the two days included Katie Brianna, Katrina
Burgoyne, Camerata graduate Caitlin Harnett, Jessica Belle,
Charlene Bailey, Troy Loakes and the Huckleberry Swedes.
As always, Bill’s band was superb, with the gorgeous Chris Haigh
on bass, and young gun Michael Muchow playing lead guitar and
contributing some mighty fine vocals to the overall sound.
At the Saturday session, Michael produced an original he’d
co-written with Bill – Killing For – which was a real
show-stopper.
The endurance award for Hats Off at The Pub should rightly go to
Bill’s drummer, Toby Laing, from the Swedes.
After an 11pm Swedes gig on Friday, which finished at 2am, Toby
began his shift with Bill at 4pm Saturday, then kept the kit in
place for the Swedes’ 8pm Saturday show. And he was still smiling
on Sunday! What a champion.

stunning debut at Hats Off in Tamworth – from left, Sam
Willoughby,

- before heading off to the town hall
to perform on the Lee Kernaghan show, which was 20 tickets
- short of a sellout – around 1000
people!

- radio presenter Barbara Morison at
Bill’s Saturday session.
