Congratulations! Kasey and Shane
Shane, Kasey and brother Talon finally welcomed their newest member of the family at 10:30am on the 17th July, 2007. A whopping 9 pound 10 ounce baby boy called Arlo Ray Nicholson... 10 days late, nine hours of labour and then an emergency caesar because of his size.  All is good with the whole family... Mum and Dad are proud as punch,  Tal has the biggest grin ever and has already taught him his secret brother handshake.

Country Music Queen Showcases Country Music Capital
Tamworth, Tuesday 27 March 2007: The 2007 Tamworth Country Music Festival presented by Telstra has just received a unique promotion; it is the entire storyboard for Kasey Chamber’s new video clip for her latest single, Sign on the Door.

A showcase of the internationally recognised Festival, the film clip covers the day of Kasey’s Live and Free Concert in the Park which was held on Friday 26 January 2007. Featuring a pregnant Kasey and her family (including husband Shane Nicholson, son Talan and dad Bill), as well as extensive footage from the day’s rehearsal and evening concert, the clip highlights the general vibe and exciting time to be had by everyone on their trip into the heartland of Australian country music

“Kasey’s continued support of the Tamworth Festival and is appreciated by everyone involved, especially the local community that she continues to interact with each year at the January Festival…we extend our sincere thanks to her,” said Ms Rebel Thomson, General Manager, Tourism Tamworth.

Over the past six years, Kasey has put on a live and free gig in the park for visitors to the Tamworth Country Music Festival and in 2007, teamed up with Australian songstress, Missy Higgins for the two hour show. The concert had in excess of 20,000 fans take over Tamworth’s Bicentennial Park to support Kasey and her selected local charity, the Tamworth Salvation Army Drought Relief.

“The free concert in the park by Kasey on the final Friday of the Festival is always a crowd highlight and is a great prelude the Saturday’s events which include the Cavalcade and the Country Music Awards,” said Ms Thomson. “Kasey’s new video is a great addition to the showcase of Festival fun and exciting atmosphere that has become part of Tamworth’s culture.”

Kasey herself has acknowledged the Festival and visitors to her concert on her official website, www.kaseychambers.com , which had the following thank you note listed; “We just wanted to thank everyone for once again making the Live & Free in the Park gig as wonderful as ever. Thanks for everyone's cooperation in the filming of the show. We've made the video to 'Sign On The Door' and are thrilled with how it turned out. It really captures the vibe of the whole day. Keep an eye out and you may catch it on Rage or Video Hits or Music Max or CMT.”

“Kasey first started out in the family band busking on Peel Street and has now become an internationally recognised, cross-genre artist that has stayed true to her Tamworth roots – she is a true ambassador for Tamworth and the talent that the Festival continues to draw each year,” Ms Thomson added.

For further information about Kasey Chamber’s new video Sign on the Door, or details about the 2008 Tamworth Country Music Festival presented by Telstra, please contact Tourism Tamworth on 02 6767 5300 or log onto www.visittamworth.com .

Kasey announces new baby on the way
Kasey Chambers has announced that she and husband Shane Nicholson are expecting their first child.
"Shane and I are due to have a baby in early July next year," she said in a posting on her website. "We are absolutely over the moon and couldn’t be happier."

Kasey said that unlike this past year, she would be "taking a bit more time off from touring and spending that time at home, learning how to change nappies again and if it's anything like last time (Talon) – learning how to live on very little sleep.

After her free show in the park at Tamworth this year with special guest Missy Higgins, Kasey is back on the road again throughout February and March in Queensland and one show in Darwin.

On the Easter weekend in April, Kasey plays the Byron Bay Blues Festival (her eighth year on stage).

KASEY CHAMBERS
live free & in the park 2007
With Special Guest
MISSY HIGGINS
All proceeds raised going to Tamworth Salvation Army Drought Relief
After five tremendously successful years 'kasey chambers live free & in the park' has now firmly established itself as one of the premier and integral events at the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival. And so on Australia Day Friday January 26th 2007 at Tamworth's Bicentennial Park, 'live free & in the park' will be back for a sixth year.

And joining Kasey this year as her very special guest will be Missy Higgins.
“I’m looking forward to Tamworth again, as always...but a little extra excited this year because not only are we doing my favourite show in the park for our 6th year - but I’m sharing the gig with Missy Higgins,” Kasey said. “We shared the stage at Wave Aid a couple of years ago and I’d hoped to get the chance to do that again sometime. So looking forward to seeing you all there and hope you enjoy it as much as we do every year.”

Missy Higgins, who is currently in the United States working on her new album said, “I’ve only been to the Tamworth Festival once before so I’m really looking forward to getting back there and being part of this show that I’ve heard so much about”.

In the five years that 'kasey chambers live free & in the park' has been in existence it has provided the perfect opportunity to help raise some much needed funds. Thanks to the generosity of the audiences, approximately ,000 has been raised and donated to local Tamworth based charities. The Tamworth Volunteer Fire Brigade, Tamworth Salvation Army Drought Relief Fund, Tamworth Youth Care Organisation for the Prevention of Youth Suicide, Tamworth Base Hospital Nioka Ward (Palliative Care Unit) & Hope cottage have all received funds. In 2007, in a slight break from tradition and with regional Australia in the grip of the one of the longest droughts in history, the buckets will again be passed around for Tamworth Salvation Army Drought Relief and we ask that fans dig deep and donate a Gold Coin per person in attendance.

“Your donations to the Salvation Army's Drought Relief Appeal will help us meet the needs of farmers in the Tamworth region,” Captain Mark Everitt of the Tamworth Corps of the Salvation Army said. “These funds will not only assist with the everyday items of living, but it will enable the Salvation Army to support people on the land with the crippling costs of running their properties.”

2007 tour dates announced
Kasey Chambers announces an acoustic tour of North Queensland and Darwin in March 2007. Although know for her stunning stripped back performances, this is the first time in Kasey’s 9 year solo career that she will put on an acoustic show. Kasey will be joined by special guests Shane Nicholson and Bill Chambers for the 9 date theatre run.

Most songs take on a whole new life when played acoustically so I am looking forward to that change. I also get to share the stage with my husband, shane Nicholson, and my Dad, Bill Chambers. They’ll both be doing songs of their own and also supporting me through my songs, which will be a mixture of different tracks from my 4 albums....a bit of old and new and maybe a few surprises thrown in as well. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.”

Youngcare concert featuring Bernard Fanning and Kasey Chambers now SOLD OUT! from CMAA
Youngcare and Bernard Fanning are thrilled to announce that the June 23 live show Youngcare Benefit Concert presented by Suncorp, also featuring Kasey Chambers, has sold out.

Tickets were released through the Youngcare website at 9am yesterday morning and were sold out by 3.20pm.
(18-May-06)

“The response to this concert has been fantastic, from the public and also in the first instance from the media, who have been so supportive with getting the word out there for us. Every aspect of the staging of this show has been donated and everyone working on it is doing so free of charge, from Bernard and Kasey offering their time to perform, to the production, ticketing, staging, venue, promotion and everything else. This is a great opportunity for Youngcare to raise funds as well as being of enormous benefit from an awareness perspective” said David Conry, Youngcare founder and Director.

Thanks to everyone who has purchased a ticket. It’s going to be a very special night!
Don’t forget - Bernard Fanning’s single Watch Over Me available from June 24!
The single Watch Over Me which is dedicated to Shevaune, is already on radio and will be available from retail outlets from June 24, the day after the show.

This is the only single to be released from Bernard’s enormously successful solo album and Bernard Fanning, Universal Music Australia, Dew Process Recordings and BMG Music Publishing will each be donating their net profits or royalties from the sale of the single to Youngcare. The good folks at Ernst and Young will be providing their auditing services and keeping tracks on all the proceeds from the single.

Visit www.youngcare.com.au  for more information on this vital organisation, and the reason for its existence.
Please note that there are absolutely no free tickets issued for this event.

CHART-TOPPING country star Kasey Chambers has split from her partner of four years, television presenter Cori Hopper.

The pair shocked the Australian music industry by officially announcing they had separated a month ago. In a joint but brief statement from their respective managers, Chambers and Hopper insisted the split was amicable.

"They separated four weeks ago and we wish to advise that the situation is amicable and hope to remain good friends in the future," the statement read. "No further comment will be forthcoming beyond this statement and we hope you will respect our privacy on this matter."

Chambers and Hopper met through one of her band members four years ago and fell instantly in love. The down-to-earth singer songwriter and handsome actor have a two-year-old son, Talon Jordi Hopper.

Like A River, Kasey's first single from Wayward Angel, was inspired by Hopper and the pair wrote three songs together for that album, which debuted at number one.

Despite their separation, the pair attended the ARIA awards two weeks ago and Kasey thanked Cori when receiving one of two awards that night.
