Hi ho those well met before, and welcome those new to these scripts.
Ahead is news of  performances in Glen Innes/ Brisbane  concerts +
Fiddle Workshops/  Tamworth/ good ol' Wallabadah before Adelaide in
Australia/ through to
Canada & USA before family & friends in Europe & Kenya in September!

You've arrived by association to Andrew Clermont through a number of
possibilities
ie his settling down, nestled in 6 (or so) bands appearing in Austria/
Kenya/ USA/ Canada/UK/ Germany/ Taiwan/ Malaysia/ Hong Kong/
Singapore/New Zealand/ and Australia wide! Pumpkin powered Totally
Gourdgeous; cutting 'hedge' Bluegrass as The Lawnmowers (with 2
National Champions); divine as Dya Singh (twice World Music Group of
Australia); flying with the Fiddlers Feast; benevolently overseeing
The Supper Club; very Australian as Terra Australis (Heritage Award &
BushBand winners); and Celtic Conundrums - to be sure, to be sure! and
soon again also with The Leaping Lizards (see below)

Andrew initiated the NoHoldsBarred Fiddle Contest and is a Director to
the Golden Fiddle Awards. These are both sponsored by Epoch Violins
with Andrew touring the new carbon-fibre Bronze model (the unique
5-string Blue Chameleon model is now touring North America with Tania
Elizabeth in The Duhks!)  while also sponsored/ assisted by Maton
Guitars, Gilchrist Mandolins and White Swallow Banjos.

Where will you be? Taken any great pics lately? Don't be shy, share them around!
Photography being also one of my passions. See my MySpace zones below
for various slide shows.
And see also

shopping for our music in USA

Please send Congratulations to The Lawnmowers - Rob Long family for
their new baby girl, Rosie Myra Long - yesterday! -

Looking back, takes us ahead!? Here is The Glass Band collaboration
(in Taiwan) ie. a Supper Club ensemble from 2002.

4-6 May & 11-13 May Weekends
The connection of this photo with the next weekends ahead is that
Donna Reynolds is from The Leaping Lizards who are not only long time
friends but are also playing with me this weekend at Glen Innes Celtic
Festival (Club Hotel Fri & Sat nights) (oops to late for that one!)
and producing the Bush Dance at Wallabadah (near Tamworth) next
weekend with me. She also won song writing awards and was a heck of a
5-string Banjo player too - now settled singing & playing Bass! Either
side of that Sat 12th May will be Randall Wilson (also above) with me
at The Vault in down town Tamworth for a "Boom Crash Opera" style
rhythm & Clermont shows - Fri night & Sun Lunch. It's been a good 5
years since Randal & I had a good shake out of our musicality
together,  so here will be a rare fun opportunity for all able to
come. I can't wait!
So above is the photo of the trip to Taiwan (where Parris actually
meets Wu PuYu, for the first time - our wondrous Supper Club Flute &
Concert Piano lass and of course now wife to Parris). Kathi Blömer is
a long time keyboard friend, German born now raising a family in
Melbourne.
In that trip we launched Taiwan's largest Mall , celebrated the near
200th birthday of Hsinshu City and played glass instruments at the
GL'ART Festival there (as you do!).

So here below is the saintly percussionist, Randall Wilson posing in
late afternoon sun, seemingly never getting older and always the
perfect accompanist! Well I'll be making sure he steps out boldly and
it appears we are welcoming an 18th Birthday Party from a nearby
Catholic girls school on the Friday night 11th May- well I suppose
someone's got to keep an eye on things as they cut loose!

OK the Fiddle workshops are all in place at the Old Bay Road Community
Complex north of Brisbane
Bluegrass by Andrew Clermont 19th/20th May,
Irish by Fred Graham 23rd/24th June,     Scottish Emma Nixon 14th/15th July
and the publicity has been out now for a few weeks. Even have a few
bookings.

The link is
http://www.fiddlesticks.co.nz/lessons.html

People can book either one or two days with the idea
in mind that students that have commitments in the weekends can come
one of the days, therefore obviously each day will be taught as a
separate lesson.

Fiddlesticks will take the Beginners and
Intermediate leaving the Advanced to the real experts.

Please spread the word
If you are in Adelaide seeking a workshop or lessons, I'll be in town
early in last week of May, let me know of any interest.

Lastly for anyone with folk or friends in USA/ Canada?

THE SUPPER CLUB
Over 50 musicians contributed & shared in the 'fringe festival' that
is at the North Tamworth Bowling Club for the annual Tamworth Country
Music Festival
each January, plus a few choice times through the year. In particular
this year the warm interplay of young and less young musos around the
club, city and Festival was much more than usual and that be  a
healthy sign for the future of the Festival.

The hardy creative core of the Supper Club this year was :-

Totally Gourdgeous

FIDDLERS FEAST
A powerhouse of fiddledom was presented at all the Fiddlers Feast

TOGETHER AGAIN TOUR
(Yarra Junction Fiddlers Convention/ Guilford/Horsham/ Frances Folk
Gathering/ Adelaide/ Pt Fairy Folk Fest)
Canadian Fiddle Champ, Tania Elizabeth, is briefly in Australia
and will start her "Together Again" tour with Andrew Clermont at
our oldest restored Music Hall in charming Guildford, just north
of Melbourne on Wed 21 Feb.

We last saw Elizabeth about 5 years back when she was just 18, casually at Yarra
Junction Fiddles Convention,  then at Brunswick Music Fest/
Apollo Bay and then featured at the National Fiddle Festival at
Richmond, Sydney before joining & touring with The Duhks across
the globe.
"I've been playing with The Duhks for just over 5 years now,
and during that time we have toured relentlessly, signed with Sugarhill
Records, won a Juno and been nominated for a Grammy."

Few are unfamliar with Clermont's chameleon music life with
Totally Gourdgeous (Theatrics), Dya Singh (Indian), The
Lawnmowers (Bluegrass),Fiddlers Feast (ex-Festival) and The
Supper Club (World) to name a few world touring groups (all
active!) Now see him with his favourite music partner. "There's
no limits with Tania - passion, technique, laughs and surprises!"
Just google their names for further background info.

Both are very open to teaching as well. This will be available
in workshop form at the Guildford Hotel Music Hall at 6pm prior
to their first concert at 8pm. Those interested in workshops
from Clermont or Elizabeth or both should ring 0407753809.
Concert is $10 and Workshop details still being arranged.

See you soon, or here again later, Have a wonderous year, be in touch,
Andrew Clermont

And for those with a moment, read on below with a cheery drink and
We'll see you and/or your friends when we can

Clermont's Xmas wRap 2006
Ah Xmas returns, 2007 beckons, and here I am rummaging through my
cassette tapes back to 1978!  The family is spread about with some
daughters in British Colombia, Canada, working (when it's not snowing
and them ice skating). One was enroute to various Pacific Isles for
Schoolies. Another planning to study motor mechanics soon. Even
wedding plans on the horizon for another - meanwhile 3 year old
grandson, is thriving and boldly going where adults fear to tread.
Dearest partner,  Pauline is now painting Butterfly scenes
after the Frog era last year while honing her next book releases on
the
%$#&@computer - yeah well a new one soon!

A journey through the last thirty years of music has been
fun, infact there is much of the songwriting from the early 80s only
now finally coming out, through bands like Totally Gourdgeous and The
Lawnmowers – bless their cotton socks!
Whereas last year, when most of the Bands recorded new
CDs, this year I directly and indirectly spent more time looking back
– assembling photos from Dad & Mum's years as well as gathering all my
digital images under one roof in my Apple I-Book laptop. A mere 6000
images! Now to scan the main prints from my Film camera pictorial past
and I'll be a happy teddy - ready to use them to generate DVD versions
of most of my recorded music.
My first Bluegrass band was Remnants, after playing
Mandolin for seemingly just months. I'd gone to a Folk Club meeting at
Adelaide Uni and met 2 people – and there were only 3 at the
'gathering'. One told me of the Fountain Inn where Bluegrass was
happening, the other, Simon Molloy became long time friend and
songwriting partner. Never doubt the reason for any given point in
time! And just to push the point further:- I joined Donna Reynolds
from the Gold Coast hills for a Wednesday night gig once in Brisbane.
Barely one person turned up….. – but she funded the next album!
In those early bluegrass years I can remember many all
night jam sessions and many wonderous nights buried in the Newgrass
and New Acoustic music. Listening to the recordings from then, now, I
can still remember getting to the ends of songs on stage and feeling
like I'd just fallen down from the ceiling of ecstasy – hardly able to
wait to kick the next song in and get up there again – ah it was the
best kind of 'drug' to have. And last weekends gigs with The
Lawnmowers were close to as much fun! We joined Bruce Matiski's guitar
& wine afternoon just out from Newcastle. Sometimes very little
changes – perhaps just the quality of the singing voice, haha!

One of this year's blessings was the chance to see all the
Clermont Uncles & Aunties together, seemingly the first time in a
long, long time. I managed a 2 month sabbatical in Europe based in
Berlin. Original plan was a month of visiting prior to the Dya Singh
Tour there - alas it was cancelled! So, being one who seeks the
lemonade from a 'lemon' moment, I continued the family & friends catch
up - from Bulgaria to West England, Copenhagen to Vienna with ever
grateful thanks to my hosts and surprise new friends. From the 'crutch
hobbling' Hamburger man who said
"Yeah, I was once a musician too" and proceeded to show me
the 'real' Hamburg; through to Ives, the Banjo man who had faith
enough over the phone to join Mark Oats, (from Fiddlers Festival (now
Fiddlers Feast) and The Bushwackers) and I, for a 5 hour Bluegrass
afternoon in Kreuzberg, Berlin.  A 'plenty of fun', performance - with
Oats, briefly over from London.
            On the family side there was a 70th, 64th & 63rd plus a
49th birthday to join in on. Wonderous hospitality – some very fine
nights of song, wine, beer & fine food with much Deutch conversation–
all very much appreciated.

To see a photo journey through the Euro Tour, hop on the net and go to
http://www.pickle.com/andrewclermont/102/351081?imz=null    You may
have to join up but, or email me first to be invited in, but easily
done. Lakes to Dragonflies, Cathedrals to Towers and some concerts -
please comment on a few if you feel the urge.
But then there was the leg to Bulgaria! - It seems Murphy's Pub, in Sofia, went  DRY! -
of Cider at least - no idea how! Fun nights sharing music with members of the secret police,
managers of several casinos here and Maria the film director &
producer of a "Supper Club - Music Deli" style TV show. Toss in a US
Colonel, assorted wives and partners with a coupla likely Ozzie lads
and the rousing choruses of Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' and Led
Zep's 'Stairway to Heaven' - with a mental fiddle out-tro - balance
nicely with the Bulgarian folk top 10. A multi cultural and multi
community level gathering! Haha. Complete in a world that wears
influences and dominance from Alexander the Great , Rome,  400 years
of heavy Turkish occupation, Russian Communism to finally get 'saved'
by Germany and lose in two wars. Add a rapidly growing Gypsy
population to a people who can't wait to get a ticket into the
European Union, and the  corrupt Mafia backdrop from Government to
street beggars begins to make sense, nearly!
It's one of the last  frontiers of Europe they say - thanks for
the rousing hospitality.

We had all kinds of Supper Club shows this year – sharing
music from Turkish Delights to Indian Dya Singh, with The Lawnmowers
big band in October - through most Folk/Bluegrass/Country Styles. We
even won the Tamworth Cavalcade with the Lions Club as "The Pub with
No Beer" featuring Totally Gourdgeous, Sophie Raymond & Montz
Matsumoto in at least 8 styles per 2 minute segment. Disco to Waltz,
Hip Hop to breakdown Bluegrass – lots of wide eye audience down Peel
Street that day!!
The Supper Club has always added intrigue for the faithful
& new listening fans – expect the unexpected. And almost as a thanks,
the North Tamworth Bowling Club has continued to enhance the
experience with :- a dedicated stage, permanent lighting, new
air-conditioning (voted Tamworth's best!), and now new sublime décor
and large plasma screen to project the tantalising piano & Hammond
organ finger work onto. Thanks Ted , Des, Pauline & team there. Our
8th year coming up? See
www.andrewclermont.com.au for further tales,
pics & sounds

Special hugs to those whose year turned tragic, may there
be resolve, new strengths and joy that grow from the difficult path -
humble thanks for sharing those times, but more tragic is to not to
know when friends are hurting. Relief often comes from unsuspecting
corners but more so by awareness – phones & sms are tiny costs by
comparison.

So to favourite DVDs & music this last year –
Alison Krauss and Union Station – Live/ Dixie Chicks – Top of the
World (much better mix than live!)
Steely Dan's – 2 against nature/ Bela Fleck & the Flecktones – Live at
the Quick/ Status Quo – 40 years (particularly the Night at the Proms
tracks - absolute classic) the rest is for fans. Not all these are
new, but were often played. CDs? Mad Violet (Canada)/ The Police –Best
of/ and still William Schatner's – Has Been – a real classic.

However having spent a good part of home time transferring
old Cassette tapes to CD (about 100 CDs worth!) there has been much
recall of earlier favourite music too – in particular when people sent
me tapes of their 'Essential Listening' (often as trade a for an album
they couldn't afford at the time from me). Too much amazing music
there to go through here, but thank you anyone who followed through to
send such gems of collections – priceless.

This year I did re-release a CD version of my second
cassette, 'Homegrown Volume 2', as it is still (thankfully) vibrant
after all these years with a mix of the Bluegrass Flat-Pick Guitar
Championship tunes I won with in the mid 80s plus the creative music
of those years around the Three Chord Wonders – and I play all the
instruments!  20 years later my 21st Century Bluegrass Band "The
Lawnmowers" puts out its 2nd CD, 'Second Cut', complete with a cover
picture I took & sent in from my sisters 'Lawn' in Copenhagen! I also
converted all my Tuition Videos to DVD plus Pauline's 'Songs for the
Soul' video of her sensitive & expressive Artwork/Music blend. Oh! And
the 'Supper Club & Beyond' Concert Clips of my own editing - DVD - the
steps toward filmmaking increase their momentum!

Ten years ago I spent part of my time in Taiwan. Between
performances I transcribed the exact melodies of my winning Bluegrass
Guitar Championship tunes from ten years before that again. By the end
of this year they will be converted to digital versions for publishing
them as a book; sound files that can be slowed right down; and link
with the re-release of HG Vol 2 this year. That will finally pay
homage to the many hours spent devoted to the Flat-picking Guitar
style in the 80s. Plus it will give the many requests for them through
the years, a 'Yes' answer!

So to philosophically wrap it up – "As you think, you
travel; as you Love, you attract. You are today where your thoughts
brought you, you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. You
cannot escape the result of your thoughts, but you can endure & learn,
can accept and be glad. You will realise the vision (not idle wish) of
your heart, be it base or beautiful, or a mixture of both for you will
always gravitate to that which you secretly most love. Into your hands
will be placed the exact results of your thoughts; you will receive
that which you earn; no more and no less. Whatever your present
environment may be, you will remain or rise with your thoughts, your
vision, your ideal. You will become as small as your controlling
desire; as great as your dominant inspiration" James Allen
 – think carefully & kindly into 2007, Regards in the Magic of Music, Andrew &
Pauline & Clans

PS and for those going to Woodford Folk Festival - see you there!

Last Words - from a fine spirit
Subject: FW: This Pastor has Guts

This Pastor has guts!!  Thought you might enjoy this interesting Prayer
given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems Prayer
still upsets some people.  When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open
the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual
generalities, but this is what they heard:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and
to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those
who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our
spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building
self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it
freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and
called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every
sin and set us free.
Amen!"

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during
the prayer in protest.

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor,
logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding
negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies
of this prayer from India,  Africa, and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The
Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any
other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our
nation and whole heartedly become our desire so that we again can be
called "one nation Under God."

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends. "If you don't
Stand for something, you will fall for everything."  Think about this:

If you forward this prayer to everyone on your e-mail list, in less
than 30 days it would be heard by the world. How many people in your address
book will not receive this prayer....do you have the ....

Guts to pass it on?

House Fires-PLEASE READ
Received from a friend who is in the property Insurance business. It is
well worth reading. This is One of those emails that if you didn't send
it, rest assured someone on your list will suffer for not reading it.
The  original message was written by a lady whose brother and his wife
learned a hard lesson this past week.
Their house burned down.. ..nothing left but ashes. They have good
insurance so the house will be replaced and most of the contents. That
is  the good news. However, they were sick when they found out the cause
of  the fire. The insurance investigator sifted through the ashes for
several  hours. He had the cause of the fire traced to the master bathroom. He
asked her sister-in-law What she had plugged in the bathroom. She
listed  the normal things....curling iron, blow dryer. He kept saying to her,
"No,  this would be something that would disintegrate at high temperatures".
Then her sister-in-law remembered she had a Glade Plug-In, in the bathroom.
>
The investigator had one of those "Aha" moments. He said that was the
cause of the fire. He said he has seen more house fires started with the
plug-in type room fresheners than anything else. He said the plastic
they  are made from is THIN plastic. He also said that in every case there was
nothing left to prove that it even existed.

When the investigator looked in the wall plug, the two prongs left from
the plug-in were still in there. Her sister-in-law had one of the
plug-ins that had a small night light built in it. She said she had noticed
that the light would dim and then finally go out. She would walk into the
bathroom a few hours later, and the light would be back on again. The
investigator said that the unit was getting too hot, and would dim and
go out rather than just blow the light bulb. Once it cooled down it would
 come back on.
That is a warning sign . The investigator said he personally wouldn't
have any type of plug in fragrance device anywhere in his house. He has seen
too many places that have been burned down due to them.
If you pass it on  it  COULD IT SAVE SOMEONE'S HOUSE, BUT IT COULD
SAVE SOMEONE'S
LIFE

Subject: Fw: Recognizing a stroke - this is not a joke
   Recognizing a Stroke
-- A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim
within  3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally.
He  said  the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed an getting
to the patient within 3 hours which is tough.
 RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking
 three simple questions:
  1. *Ask the individual to SMILE.
  2. *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
 3. *Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e It is  sunny out today) If he or she has trouble with any of these
tasks, call 0-0-0  immediately and describe the symptoms to the
dispatcher.
You could help save a life !!

Don't be sad when great things stop.
Celebrate that they happened at all!

Last month was the Turkish Supper Club Tour including a wedding show
that went beautifully crazy - crowd surfing, everyone dancing and an
audience from many parts of the world. We bid them a fine life. And
big hugs to the Turkish Delight group, - Jhana, Jess, Lauren & Arlene,
choice performance all round.

Dorrigo was again a treasured concert space at the Gazette Theatre. Wo
Pu-Yu had the crowds tantalised with her Bach Variations on the Piano
while a week's work out on my tunes & songs brought them all the more
alive with her Flute flare.  And there's always wonderful food on
offer from the Arts Group - this time with a Middle East trend.

A big thankyou to all who joined in the Birthday 'tour' - from dinner
at 6 past 6 on 6/6/06 at my fav Sydney Turkish eatery, Saray's, start
of Enmore Rd, Sydney, through Melbourne, Canberra to The Old Bush Inn,
Willunga, South Australia - Special guest Banjo man Montz Matsumoto
came all the way down from Gawler and electrified the audience - they
looked near like the 'Last Supper' from stage with their faces glowing
in intrigue and wonder at the show.

Many hugs to the gathering of friends from wayback school days to
fresh on the night and particularly to Rosemary for the organising
hand. Also big thanks to Josh Bennett on slide guitar & Quentin Eyers
everything music coincidentally also from the Dya SIngh band personel
for joining in. I believe my long time back Bluegrass band, Remnants,
played there in about 1983 or so too!! Ah what a great era of music
that was too. Perhaps I'll release a collectors CD of those days. I
recently found a few happy tapes from radio shows back then.

The all day jam in Melbourne at the Packards home followed closely by
Tony Hunter's fiftieth birthday in Canberra the next night were solid
music affairs of the heart - all part of a hugely memorable 45th
birthday. I guess I've been making up for the years away on tour at
birthday time.

Final highlight was being at the Murray River's cliff edge at Heaven's
Lookout in Loxton, SA, with my teenage daughter on a perfect sunset
being surprised by a big kangaroo jumping in and swimming all the way
across! And got the whole lot on video! Though I had experienced it
once before with a close-to-pet Roo (infact swimming with it) but
seeing the whole event from above was very special and all the more
bizarre.

I mentioned earlier some early tapes and infact I have prepared a
release of the 'Homegrown Vol 2' album featuring the winning Bluegrass
Flat-pick Guitar Championship tunes from 1984,85 & 87. I play
everything on the recordings and they sound as fresh and vibrant today
as then.  Some of the songs from those early tapes have been re-living
themselves with Totally Gourdgeous and on their/our CDs. Finally a
live vehicle for them - 20 years later!!

Adding to that will soon be a book of Tablature & music to those
Championship tunes. Perhaps by Xmas with any luck.

I had actually written them out 10 years ago while doing the Taiwan
Concerts with Jenny Lester (Canada) and Daryl (Jack) Melbourne who
will (cross-fingers) come out at the years end for an anniversary
tour!! The plan being for Xmas - Woodford Folk Fest QLD till Tamworth
Country Festival NSW with perhaps a trip to Cygnet Folk Fest,
Tasmania, between.

Much to be organised in the meantime, so may you all prosper in your
own ways and love&care for those around you.
Yours ever in the magic of music, Andrew

Perhaps you've got friends you'd like us to take our
music to, or simply someone keen to run a House Party? We love fitting
them in between the Festivals and they're a great boost to your
community of friends.

Totally Gourdgeous (TG) just finished their initiation
into the Tamworth Country Music Festival via 'Andrew Clermont's'
Supper Club (Fringe Festival!). They arrived with their CD launch "The
Stroke of Midnight" uniting with Shot by Jake's book launch "Hat's
Life" together with Poet champ Murray Harten's DVD launch !!! 15
Supper Club Shows later - sharing with 'Oscar winning' Sophie Raymond;
Japanese Banjo Champ, Montz Matsumoto (who scooped the front page pic
of the Festival Pics Issue of the Northern Daily Leader), they
contributed to winning the Cavalcade Float Award for 2006 with The
Lions Club singing fearful versions of the 'Pub with No Beer'! A well
presented Pub had been erected on the semi trailer and all were in
costume – let alone the ever colourful TG
The Classic Waltz version/ then flat out Bluegrass/
Disco/ Reggae…. I think you get the idea!! We not only won the
Non-corporate but the Overall Award as well!

Now the Tolkien entranced New Zealand is ringing to
the lilts of TG from the mountain tops to the Ferries as week make a
short tour.  You can hear the 'Making of 'The Stroke of Midnight" at

musicians bring their news and fun from afar.

Yours ever thankful, Andrew Clermont
Bonus story – so inspiring
A Whale of a Story
If you read the front page story of the SF Chronicle on Thursday,
December 15, 2005, you would have read about a female humpback whale who had
become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines. She was weighed down
by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat.
She also had hundreds of yards of line (rope) wrapped around her body
her tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the Farralone Islands (outside the
Golden Gate) and radioed an environmental group for help. Within a few
hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so bad off,
the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her, a very dangerous
proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer. They worked for
hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.

When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous
circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and
nudged them, pushed them gently around -- she thanked them. Some said
it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives. The guy
who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole
time, and he will never be the same.

May you, and all those you love, be so blessed and as fortunate in the
New Year ---- to be untangled from the things that we think are binding
us.

Thanks to Maxine (New Paradigm Media "Brilliance in Service to Life")
for relaying that story

New Grandson

Mikale be his name, Born 19th May 2003 from beautiful daughter, Mandy and
Dad, Ricky

Ah dear friends of music and the life it touches, guess who's a granddad!
Yep, daughter number one is 21 . Grandson is hearty & happy. And funnily enough
matching my age when she arrived herself, so if tradition continues a great
great great grand by 105!  (I'll pass on any congrats) And I'm even another year
older this week on the 5th
Conveniently many friends are coming to Tamworth for the mid-year Country
Music Festival, you beauty! And as my sweet grandson came 2 weeks ahead of
expectations, I'm even home with the weekend free to enjoy it. (First time in 5 or
more years! You can call me on 0407753809 if you get here)

Now the hard part, the next 3 months touring away - but of course plenty of

Totally Gourdgeous Debut CD - reggaed folk

A very catchy CD * Penelope Swales, Mal Webb, Carl Panuzzo & Andrew.
Penelope has been touring Texas USA, writes songs of social comment & makes the gourd-geous instruments.   Mal Webb is a vocal gymnast with zany and traditional tastes and master of  Trombone/Bass/Guitar/Thumb piano & Backwards yodels!
Carl returns from Europe's voice festivals, paralleling Steve Wonder in delivery - Percussion gourds & songs of passion.   Andrew was invited to the gourds last December at the Woodford World  Music Festival, Fiddle, Mando & Didgeridoo gourds.

"Dance of the Good Life"  a duo instrumental adventure with the amazing Parris MacLeod (piano/drums/bass).  After receiving nomination in the (Golden Guitars 2000 Top 5 for Best Instrumental), the two handy players have now expanded with a rich blend of musical colours.  Solo violin, piano & mandolin pieces included by request.  There are also some alternative mixes to compare at your leisure.

"Bluegrass" - Made in Taiwan; Live & Stormy - featuring Jenny Lester (Canada), Daryl Melbourne & Andrew.  After co-ordinating Bluegrass musos in & out of Taiwan for two years, this recording wraps up an extraordinary event for Andrew.  Thunder Lightning, nothing short of a Typhoon would stop the show from going on.  A slick performance by the trio as Jenny stepped into about her 600th show there!  She became one of the few independent artists to appear in Nashville's Bluegrass Top 20.

Strung Out - Fiddlers Festival ; Favourites & More from the fiddle dream team.  Opening track features the striking voice of Kevin Bennett .  Marcus Holden steps out more in this CD and includes visiting Irish fiddler.  Malachi Rhythm section is Willy Qua Drummer & Sax from Galapagos Duck.  Garry Steel on consummate piano/accordian, Michae Vidale - Double Bass & Andrew Clermont covers guitar/tenor banjo/Mandolin/fiddle while most of the Fid fest Fiddlers show their stuff.

Video - A Crash course to Fiddling Freedom (or Mandolin/Didgeridoo/guitar) the travels have included much opportunity for Andrew to teach through workshops.  Now the clues from getting started to better performance are out on VHS video.  Close camera work ensures getting the inside story of technique.
