ABC MUSIC SIGN STEVE FORDE
ABC Music are delighted to formally announce their biggest new signing of 2007, that of leading local artist, Steve Forde.

The announcement follows Forde's success with the single, Spirit Of The Bush, with Lee Kernaghan and Adam Brand which topped the ARIA Australian Singles Chart on July 9.

"When Steve started out, everyone in the business shut the door on him, so he went out and created a career on his own. He financed his own albums, wrote his songs and even started building his own stages to perform on - stages which other leading acts now also use," said Robert Patterson, Head of ABC Music.

"He's gone on to become one of Australia's leading live acts and is the most recognised personality on the Country Music Channel. He's also helped establish a number of festivals and has been acknowledged for introducing a younger demographic of fans to country music".

"Most importantly though, the new music on this new self-titled release is of the highest quality and we look forward to working with Steve as he takes the next step in his recording career," said Patterson.

Forde teamed up with leading US producer Richard Landis for this latest album project. Landis' track record is very impressive having produced high selling albums with the likes of superstars Vince Gill, Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers, Eddie Rabbit and Ronnie Milsap - just to name a few.

ABC Music's distributor Warner Music Australia is also very excited about the upcoming project.

"Steve Forde is a unique artist, one we believe has a huge future in this business. He has built a fan-base and touring business rarely seen in any genre of music in this country. Warner Music is committed to working with our partners at ABC Music to launch Steve in a major way this September," said Ed St John, President & CEO Warner Music Australia.

Originally from, and still based in, Grenfell in the central west of New South Wales, Steve Forde is a farmer, a musician, a songwriter, an entrepreneur, a husband and recently, father. He's truly a great Australian.

"I'm really looking forward to working with ABC and Warner Music. They're a very professional team of people and I'm very excited about what the future holds," said Forde.

The first single from the new album, titled 'Metropolis', hits radio stations on August 11. His new self-titled album will be released on September 22 through ABC Music/ Warner Music Australia.
Steve Forde's new self-titled album is released on September 22, 2007

On hearing about her plight, and that young Bessie was a huge Steve Forde fan, Steve immediately visited her in the children’s hospital in Sydney and arranged for a single to be rush released with profits going to the Bessie Appeal which has been set up with the Reliance Credit Union in Bathurst. He then re-directed his touring party to Bathurst and staged a concert the following weekend as part of a fundraiser for the Bessie Appeal which brought in over $71,000. STEVE FORDE AND THE FLANGE
TOPPING THE CHARTS AND TOURING

This is a significant week for hard working cowboy, Steve Forde, with his current Vital Records single “Beer and Women” hitting the No.1 position on the Country Music Channel (CMC) chart and his latest album “Wild Ride” topping the Independent sales charts.

This is his 4th chart topping single which reflects his popularity throughout Australia where he is playing to large crowds, most recently opening for Shannon Noll’s regional tour which drew huge audiences.

Contracted by Foxtel/Austar satellite TV companies as “the face” of country music in Australia, Steve has been hosting shows and events on Channel V, Max, Fox 8 and CMC as well as many of the other major Australian pay TV channels.

Whilst still a hard working farmer, Steve enjoys life on the road in the infamous “flange” bus and with his mobile stage, fans in country areas are treated to slick, professional, exciting shows. Steve has a number of shows booked in the coming months as follows:

STEVE’S OFF TO VEGAS!!
Red hot country music performers, Steve Forde and the Flange have received an invitation to perform at the PRCA National Finals Rodeo which will be held in Las Vegas in December.
The talent booker for this prestigious event, Billy Tuitt, flew to Australia last weekend to see Steve and The Flange perform at this year’s National Muster in Gympie and immediately signed him up!
Tuitt commented “Steve and the guys play with an unparalleled energy which is a perfect fit for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. I look forward to exposing the established American country music market to this talented and entertaining Australian artist and feel confident of a great response”.
Steve will join American stars Mark Chesnutt, Rhett Akins, Wade Hayes and many more who will play to an expected crowd in the tens of thousands.
This will cap off a very busy year for Steve who signed to Vital Entertainment Solutions in June and released his second album “Wild Ride” in August which is currently riding high on the Australian charts.

THE STEVE FORDE ROADSHOW TOURS QUEENSLAND
Hot on the heels of the release of Steve’s second album “Wild Ride”, the Steve Forde Roadshow headed off to Queensland last week for a month long tour.
The Flange 60ft tour bus/trailer and Steve’s revolutionary mobile stage make a powerful impact on the outback landscape and Queensland are about to witness a cutting edge performance by Steve and the Flange showcasing the great songs from the new album.
Steve “takes no prisoners” with this rocking BIG show which kicks off at the Boulia Camel Races and finishes with a special exciting finale at the Gympie Muster.
During this period on the road Steve will be meeting with fans, visiting music retailers, doing extensive interviews and, no doubt, creating pandemonium when The Flange bus roadshow hits town.
Meanwhile, Steve’s single “Another Man” is being picked up by stations across Australia whilst his TV series on CMC is attracting strong interest introducing this new country star to a brand new audience.

CMC Country Music
presents…

The Steve Forde Roadshow
LOCAL COUNTRY ARTIST STARS IN HIS OWN TV SHOW
Is it reality TV, a behind the scenes look at a band on the road, or just some local idiot with a camera?  The Steve Forde Roadshow…all of the above and more.

Steve and his band Steve Forde and the Flange, came together in 2000, following Steve having stints as a rodeo rider, farmhand, and 2 years travelling across USA.  CMC picked him up late in 2003, and decided his life, character and take on the world was too much to miss out on, so we stuck a camera on him for the next couple of months. Steve is a star in the making, and now he has his own show on CMC.

The Steve Forde Roadshow follows our hero as he makes his way around Australia, on tour with Lee Kernaghan. The Flange play B&S balls in the middle of nowhere and Steve’s own stage, which assembles from the back of a semi trailer. Steve travels to Nashville where he records his second album, due for release in Australia in July, here the ‘Flange-cam’ give us a tour of Nashville, along with a unique insight of how to ruin a hire car.

The late nights, the ladies, the booze, the antics, The Steve Forde Roadshow.
A modern day outlaw, Steve Forde is anomalous Australian talent. Watch his story unfold on CMC from Monday July 5.
20 short episodes of the Steve Forde Roadshow tell the story. Steve Forde is the real deal, make no mistake.
See what life is really like on the road with the Steve Forde Roadshow.

The Steve Forde Roadshow airs in rotation on CMC: Episode 1-5 between 5-10 July, episode 6-10 between 12-17July, Episode 11-15 between 19-24July, episode 16-20 between 26-31July.

All episodes will be stunted back to back in August, check the website for details.
