The popular trio appeared before a viewing audience of over 1.4 million in the first elimination rounds in early March singing the John Fogerty cover ‘Southern Streamline’.

Tamworth’s own Those Gals Semi-Finalists on Seven Network’s
AUSTRALIA’S GOT TALENT
In August popular local trio Wendy Wood, Kerry Walsh and Carolyne Morris auditioned in Tamworth in pre-selection rounds for the National Talent Search billed as Aussie’s Greatest Ever Talent Quest.

In February they flew to Melbourne for a first round appearance. Late last month they were invited back for a semi-final round expected to be screened shortly.

‘We flew down to Melbourne in late February to record the show and had an amazing time. Everyone was so lovely to us and it was wonderful to see how things work behind the scenes. ‘ Wendy Wood said.

‘The judges voted us through to the semi finals. We couldn't believe it. We are one of the only acts to come from a regional area. Most of the others come from capital cities.’

‘I can't tell you the outcome …. but what I can tell you is that the judges vote one act through to the final and the another act is voted through by the public’ she explained.

‘The actual 10 semi finalists are announced within the programme from a shortlist of up to 15 acts per episode who the judges passed in the heats. These 10 are revealed within the show itself’ Seven Network staff said they were unable to comment on the exact date the semi-final featuring Those Gals will go to air.

However anyone who knows the trio will have their eyes glued to the television tomorrow night at .30pm in anticipation of the screening. Voting lines open shortly after and Those Gals are urging everyone to telephone vote to secure a place in the Grand Final later this month.

Aussie Independent Music songwriter Wendy Wood entered 7 songs in the CCMA Country Capital Music Association Songwriting Competition aka The Buddy Weston Award for Festival 2007.

She says she received a phone call from Rene Bonomo from the CCMA Committee telling her he had some BAD news.
‘Wendy.. I've got some bad news for you. ONE of your songs didn't make it through to the finals.!!’
You can imagine the laughter that followed the confusion.
An elated Wendy said ‘I decided to put 7 songs in the comp in the hope that one of them would make it through to the final but I couldn't believe it when 6 were selected...I'm so thrilled.’
The six unreleased songs are:
1. Do You Want Love With That?
2. It's Called A Break-up 'Cause it's Broken
3. Driving Through
4. I Can't Get Into Christmas This Year
5. So Far So Good
6. There Goes You

What a very busy time Those Gals have had over the last couple of months.
In August we auditioned for the TV show Australia's Got Talent.
We found out a little bit later that we had made it into the televised heats.

We flew down to Melbourne in late February to record the show and had an amazing time. Everyone was so lovely to us and it was wonderful to see how things work behind the scenes.

The judges voted us through to the semi finals. We couldn't believe it.
We just arrived home yesterday from recording our semi final. We are one of the only acts that come from a regional area, most of the others come from capital cities.I can't tell you the outcome but what I can tell you is that the judges vote one act through to the final and the another act is voted through by the public. There are only 8 finalists in the grand final.
Our semi final goes to air on 1st April on Channel 7 at 6.30pm and the voting lines open as soon as the show is over.

So please get behind "Those Gals and give us your vote. We'd truly love to get down there again and represent Tamworth.
Australia's Got Talent, Tamworth's Got Those Gals.

So Far So Good – New Album for Those Gals
Launch Tamworth Services Club Friday 17 November

Tamworth trio Those Gals launch their second album ‘So Far SO GOOD’ on Friday night at the Tamworth Services Club at 8.00pm.

2005 John Laws Rising Star finalists the all girl group Wendy Wood Kerry Walsh and Carolyne Morris’s version of the John Fogarty Southern Stream Line was heard from coast to coast on the nationally syndicated radio program last year.

Singer/songwriter Wendy Wood acknowledged just what an impact it had on their future recordings.

‘Being amongst the JL Rising Star finalists really encouraged us to keep doing what we do. It also helped us decide to take it to the next level.’

Those Gals work every weekend travelling mainly around the North West and Hunter Regions. In between times they recorded their second album at Hilltop Studios with music producer Gary Brown.

‘There’s eight originals six written by us and we’ve recorded four covers.’

According to Wendy the covers Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye; Oh Boy; Mississippi and If You Ever Have Forever In Mind are all very popular with audiences at live gigs. Oh Boy is a remake of Australian Diana Trask’s biggest charting US country song of the mid-70’s.

‘It’s so popular we had to include it on this new album.’

Also included on the album are two songs by local songwriter Steve Charles (Teardrops & Heartaches) and one by US writer Lana Sprague (Cowboy Cuddle).

Audience favourite ‘A Bell I Ringing Out in Beaconsfield’ was written by Wendy earlier this year as Australia witnessed the tragedy of the Tasmanian community.

It’s included with two other Wendy originals Are You Happy Now? and My Heart’s Still Holding On. For first time writer Kerry Walsh Introduce Yourself gives a new spin to hapless love. The Carolyne Morris penned Consider Me and Gettin’ Down & Playin’ the Blues makes six from these very individual ‘Gals’.
