different categories in the ACMLA 2005 Peoples' Choice Awards

presented with the award for the "Best Song" on Thursday 20th
January for his popular hit single "Same Ol' Love".
"Having been nominated alongside such names as Troy Cassar-Daley
(Factory Man), Fisk & Cristian (Feels Like Love), Melinda
Schneider (Real People) & Brendan Walmsley (Bottle Tree Lane); it
was a totally unexpected honour to have had my song voted by the
Australian Country Music Listeners as their favourite. I was
certain that I had no chance against such a high standard of
competition & had simply regarded myself to be a "winner" for just
getting nominated alongside them. I am absolutely thrilled to have
won this award, it really means a lot & is extremely encouraging
for an Interdependent singer/songwriter such as myself."
"I would like to send out a very special thankyou to all the Radio
Presenters/Programmers & CMC (Country Music Channel) for all the
support & airplay, Smoky & Paula Sheldrick for their valued advice
& guidance over the past year & for creating such a wonderful
association in the form of the ACMLA, Telstra Country Wide for
sponsoring the "Best Song" award, One Stop Entertainment for a
wonderful job in distributing my album, the Country Music
listeners out there for their overwhelming support of my music &
to everyone who has been a part of my career so far."

Think I Like It Here". The clip hit the TV screens on Saturday &
can be seen on Australia's one & only Country Music Channel CMC!!
Filmed in the Hunter Valley, this is Rob's third clip directed by

A strong mainstream country song with a really positive twist; it
tells the story of living in a town that, on the surface may not
have alot going for it, but if you dig a little deeper it really
does have "Everything that a man holds dear - Yeah, I Think I Like
It Here!".

footsteps & make it a trifecta of hits for Rob!

located. At this stage he still had no idea that he was the
Winner.
The Cooper's Golden Saddle Award celebrated it's eight
year this year with wonderful performances from three of

Winner Mark Tempany returned and performed to a most
enthusiastic Audience and this year's Special Guest

Grand-Finalists told the Audience that the Australian
Country Music Industry was indeed in good hands and how
proud she was to Present the Award to Rob and the Runners-Up

Rob has
just signed a distribution deal with One Stop Entertainment.
His single
"Same Ol Love" has just been released on NFS #84 this week.
With a highly respected fulltime
musical career of over 20 years to his
name, Rob Wilson has finally released his eagerly anticipated debut
"solo"
album with a title definitely not defining the quality of the
featured
recordings. Titled "Rough Around The Edges" the album contains a
collection
of "polished gems" & is so well put together that it stands out as
a release
that has the Country Music Scene abuzz with interest.
Released during the 2003 Mildura
Country Music Festival, the 12 track album
includes seven of Rob's original compositions & showcases his
stunning yet
extremely easy listening vocal range & ability to mix contemporary
&
traditional Country styles & actually make it work. Produced by
Glen Hannah
& Mixed/Mastered by Jeff McCormack, the album also features a top
lineup of
musicians along with Glen, Karen O'Shea & Felicity on backing
vocals to die for.
In the short time it has been
available, the album has been receiving plenty
of attention from Country Music stations with the first single "Same
Ol'
Love" receiving immediate airplay. Penned by Rob, this is a song
many can
relate to. Lyrically, falling back in love with someone you used to
love is
easy to imagine, while it's infectious rhythm & very catchy chorus
is the
kind that will stick in your head for the rest of the day. "Same Ol'
Love"
is also featured on the NFS #84 Compilation Album to be release in
November '03.
Having travelled extensively around
Australia with his talents over the
years, Rob is now based in the Hunter Valley, NSW while touring
throughout
the Eastern states & is always extremely popular wherever he
performs.
Rob has accomplished a tremendous amount of achievements over the
years
> including the following recent highlights:
*He was a "Toyota Starmaker" Grand Finalist in 1996.
*As the lead vocalist of "Golden Guitar" nominees "Shot To Pieces",
he was
signed to Festival Records. The band was one of Australia's top
Country
Music bands & released the critically acclaimed album "Freebird"
*His vocal harmony skills are in high demand throughout the
Industry & have
been featured on many professional recordings for artists such as
Bill
Chambers, Neville Anderson, Josh Canning, Sandra Humphries & Alby
Pool.
*Along with Alby Pool & Donella Plane, he is the host of the very
popular
weekly Hunter Valley Country Music show "The Horseshoe Bend
Roundup".
With the release of this new album, 2004 will see Rob extending his
schedule
to include a lot of interstate touring with a possible trip
overseas to
participate in some songwriting sessions & promote the album.
