Alex Watt Continues His
World Tour of Australia
Immediately following his performance at the Bateau Bay
Bowling Club as part of The Central Coast Country Music Festival
Alex will embark on the next stage of his highly successful
promotional tour. Stage one began last November, taking in the
Central and Southern parts of NSW, from Albury/ Wodonga across to
Bega in the South and up as far as Burren Junction in the North
West.
-
Buoyed by the chart success of his
current single “Watch The Sun Go Down”, off his debut album
“Window Down”, Alex is looking forward to taking his music on the
road once again, to perform, meet and speak to his growing legion
of fans.
-
“The Tamworth Country Music Festival was
great” said Alex, “meeting up with so many fans from all over
Australia and having the opportunity to perform in different types
of venues and see that my music is appealing to such a wide range
of people is really rewarding”. “If album sales are a measure of
success at Festivals, Tamworth was very good to me, and I am
looking forward to getting back out on the road”.
-
This stage of the tour takes in some
twenty seven towns over sixteen days and nights covering the North
coast of NSW and Southern Queensland commencing at Forster/
Tuncurry on Monday 12th March, travelling and performing in Towns
such as Kempsey, Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Ballina, Murwillumbah,
Coolangatta, Tweed Heads, Brisbane, Caloundra, Maroochydore,
Hervey Bay, Bundeberg, Gympie, Toowoomba plus many Towns in
between. “It is a very heavy schedule, with radio interviews at
all hours, in-store CD Shop performances which are fantastic
because you get the chance to, not only perform live, but sign
CD’s and talk to people as well. Then of an evening I will be
entertaining patrons in selected hotels along the way”.
“One Stop Entertainment our CD distributor is being of great
assistance in co-ordinating our in-store performances in
conjunction with my management team. So everything has come
together pretty well and all I have to do now is get out there and
do what I love best- performing”.
So look out for Alex Watt on the North Coast of NSW and Southern
Queensland during March.
Get along to one of his in-store performances in your area and
keep a listen out for him on your local Radio- You will love him

- Born and raised on the land in the
tiny wheat belt town of Koorda, Alex has always had his heart and
soul in the soil, which is strongly reflected in his music.
From a family of six children without television, music was the
main feature of family life where his father was a musician
playing in a local band.
With this family involvement Alex learnt the basics of the piano
and then guitar at a very early age so he could play and sing to
entertain family and friends.
Alex started writing his own songs at age 16, with his passion for
the land and family values being foremost in his lyrics – “Old
Koorda Town” is a prime example of his passion.
The family suffered a major setback of losing the farm when Alex
was 21 which has reinforced his will to one day return to the
land.
Initially after leaving the farm Alex became a qualified
Agricultural Plant Mechanic and coupled this with his love for
music by performing at hotels and clubs in the district to gain
experience and hone his skills as a songwriter.
A few years later Alex competed in a couple of talent quests
including the Telstra Road to Tamworth in Kalgoorlie gaining a
measure of success and recognition of his talent.
In April 2004, Alex with wife Sheree and their 3 children packed
up and headed to the East Coast to pursue lasting success in the
country music industry as a singer/songwriter.
Once again competing in a number of major talent quests to gain
exposure, culminating in being awarded Victorian Champion of
Champion 2004.
Now settled with his family in Tamworth N.S.W- the Country Music
Capital of Australasia, Alex’s career is on the move in a big way.
He was a finalist in Australia’s premiere Talent Quest, Star Maker
2005, has formed his own duo and is in high demand in hotels and
clubs throughout N.S.W, largely featuring his own material and the
unique full sound of his 12 string guitar.
Now everyone will have the opportunity to hear this rising star
with the production of his first full album by the exceptionally
talented Roger Corbett, due for release in November with the first
single “Window Down” to be launched nationally on radio through
N.F.S.
Sit back relax and listen.
