- Stars Trekking For The
Kids
Kerry Kennedy and Billy Sell are members of country rock
band Double Barrel.
- On the 15th of April the boy's head
off with Irish entertainer Patrick
McKinley to Mt Isa to start in the S.I.D.S and kids trek heading
up to
Darwin and then back to Roma.
For the last 5 years the band has entered a car in the Trek taking
them all
over Queensland and now all over the Northern Territory.
Kennedy's affiliation with the S.I.D.S foundation started back in
1999 when
he wrote a song entitled "Single Tear" for the foundation
dedicated to his
nephew Cory who passed away in 1991 aged 6 months.
Since then he has been an ambassador for the cause to help find a
reason
these babies are dying.
" We have a lot of support in the community both from here on the
Gold Coast
and from my home town in Dalby" Kennedy said. "Carmichael Builders
in Dalby
have been fantastic, this is the third year in a row they have
come on board
with us.
Robina Plumbing (Graham Elton
former Dalby boy) have sponsored us for two
years
As has Sun State Interiors (Burleigh Heads) and the Old Bastards
(Burleigh
Division).
This year we have 2 new sponsors in the way of Fisherman's Wharf
Tavern
(Gold Coast) and Charlton Tyres (Toowoomba)
And a special thanks has to go to Billy Bark for all his
mechanical prowess
in keeping the car safe sound and efficient
And to all these businesses we are truly grateful".
If anyone would like to donate any
amount to the S.I.D.S and kids Trek phone

Aussie Boys song
By David Harden
Germany's youngest country star Tommy Roberts Jr has recorded 3

The pair met at a concert they were both performing at in
Switzerland, where
Kennedy had success with the title track of his second album
"Glass of Wine"
Tommy was drawn to one of Kennedy's songs "I Must have been
dreaming" off
the third album "Goin Home", and recorded the song in February
"I Must have been dreaming" "Goin Home" and "Big Rig" are the
three songs
Tommy Roberts Jr has recorded, and it is due to be released in
Europe later
this year.
"It has been such a great start to the year," Kennedy said. "The
album
passed all our old records sales in Tamworth, our first single off
the album
"Big Grin Baby" was placed in the top 5 songs of the I.C.E.
awards,
publishers in the States are interested in my songs and we are
working on a
distribution deal at the moment, all this and the overseas news is
just
fantastic."
