TANIA KERNAGHAN & ALL STAR LINE UP DISCOVER DOWNUNDER
Australia's Queen of Country Music - Tania Kernaghan - last week invited fellow country artists Drew McAlister and Lee Forster to join with her to celebrate the season final of Channel 9's "Discover Downunder".

The multi award winning stars performed a secret live concert which featured a number of their own original songs along with some old favourites to a lucky crowd of fans at One Mile Beach Resort at Port Stephens.

Kernaghan - who joined the program as co-host earlier this year alongside Paul Cronin and Dean Allen Craig - has helped make the program the top rating program in it's timeslot. She also recently enjoyed 4 weeks at number one on the Top 30 Country Singles Chart with her latest single, "Life Don't Get Much Better Than This" and has just picked up two finalist nominations in the Telstra Southern Stars Australian Independent Country Music Awards in Independent Female Vocalist and Independent Single of The Year.

Don't miss the season final of "Discover Downunder" featuring Tania Kernaghan, Drew McAlister and Lee Forster this Saturday at 4pm on Nine Network and affiliates.

Lee Forster Sets Airwaves Alight!
Written By Red Rebel Music
Hot new artist sets airwaves alight! The hottest new name in Australian country
music at the moment, Lee Forster, has set the airwaves on fire! His scorching
track, "A Fire In The Bar", has achieved what most new artists only dream of -
a track on high rotation on radio playlists throughout Australia and a video on
the prestigious CMC.

Co-written, produced & featuring guitars by Stuie French - the track also
showcases the crème of the Australian Country Music Industry including Michel
Rose, Glen Wilson, Chris Haigh and the fabulous Camille Te Nahu providing guest
vocals. Recently named TSA New Songwriter of The Year and asked to pen the theme
tune for the new television program, "Cruisin' The Country", Lee Forster, is set
for a huge career in country music. Don't be the last to catch onto this
sizzling performer!

Gday Folks,
Just thought I'd say hi and let you know how things are. I hope everyone is
well.

I mentioned last month that I have been working with Karen Waters from Red Rebel
Music. Karen has been doing an awesome job with my publicity, organizing radio
interviews all over the country and press releases like the one above. I give
HUGE  thanks to Karen for all her support.
http://www.redrebelmusic.com/

Massive thanks must go to everyone who has been part of my film clip "A Fire in
the Bar" and to everyone who has been requesting it. If it makes the top ten on
CMC I'll throw a party somewhere. So keep requesting it. At the moment "A Fire
in the Bar" is also sitting at number 21 on the top 30 Country Music Charts.

I have a huge night coming up on the 22nd July (My Birthday) at the Churchill
Saloon Bar for the "Cruisin the Country" TV Launch. My band and I will be
crackin out the tunes and will feature our new song "Cruisin the Country" which
is the theme song for the TV show. "Cruisin the Country" is a concept put
together by good mates Mel n Scotty. The TV show is based on the Australian
country life and cultures. They will feature country artists, pubs, rodeos,
uteshows, and anything to do with the bush and having fun in the country.
http://www.cruisinthecountry.com.au/
If you've never been to the Churchill Saloon bar, please come on down. It is one
of the best country venues in Australia. We have an absolute ball every time we
play there. I say it's like having a B&S ball in a pub without the food dye and
black ties.
So if you are in Vic get along to it. It's FREE ENTRY and there are heaps of
Bundy Promotions with real live Bundy girls. Sovereign and DJ Richo are also
performing there, with some special surprise guests.

I'm looking forward to heading to West Aussie in late August for about 4 weeks
of gigs. I can't wait to meet everyone from over there who has supported,
particularly the mob of WA BeauteUte Members.  BIG Thanks to Billy Sherman from
the BeauteUtes website for all his Fantastic support as well. It is greatly
appreciated. If you are into utes like I am, you should get onto the BeauteUtes
site and check it out. It is a lot of fun, with heaps of great people on there
to yarn with.
http://www.beaututes.com/

Recently I sold out of CDs, which is great for me, but not great for the people
who wanted to buy one. Well the good news is I have a new bunch. So if you want
one, just give me a call or email and I'll sign it for you and send it out. They
will be in any good shops that sell country music.

Til the next time I see, take care, and

from my "The Way he Rolls His Swag" album. It is due

it. "A Fire in the Bar" is the first song of mine that
has had a film clip produced. The filming was a whole
lotta fun and the editing has been very interesting
and fun also. I have enjoyed making the clip. I would
like to thank Alan Kealy my producer of the clip for
all the wonderful work he has done to put this
together. So look out for it on your telly soon.

The Australian Country Music Guild holds a country

Happy Easter
Hello
Just a quick note this week. To wish everyone a Happy Easter. I hope you all
get heaps of chocolate and get fat. Hehe.   It's always a fun weekend catching up
with family and mates.  I will be up in Sydney for the week so if you around and
want a yarn give me a buzz.
Firstly I would love to congratulate a couple of real good mates, Camille
Te-Nahu and Stuie French. It is big congratulations for them on reaching
number ONE on the Country Charts.
http://www.nfspublicity.com.au/charts/ct30.html  It is an awesome feat.
More congratulations to Stuie and Cam as they are getting married this weekend.
So if you see choppers flying around South Sydney it'll be the Paparazzi trying
to get photos for TV week. It is going to be an awesome day and I can't wait for
it.
If you haven't seen a Cam N Stuie show you'd better get on your bike and go and
have look at one. You will see two of the best and walk away with their album
I'm sure. So check em'
www.camilletenahu.com
Stuie is the man behind the production on my "The Way He Rolls His Swag" Album.
Stuie does an awesome job and will be producing my next album later this year.
His guitar work is the best anyone could get.   Stuie also helped co-write "A
Fire in the Bar" which is the next single off the album to be released to
radio. The film clip for "A Fire in the Bar" is just about complete and you
will see it real soon on the telly. It is also huge a privilege to have
Camille singing harmonies for me, as well a bit of tuition along the way.

I would like to say "The Way He Rolls His Swag" has risen up the charts to
number 11. I'm still very humbled that I have gone this far as it is my first
single into the charts. I can't thank people enough for their support.

The Country Music Association of Victoria, hold a club night once a month in
Ballarat.
Craig Giles came down from Finley as the guest artist, this month and he was
awesome. Being part of the club band I got to play along side Craig and watch
his very polished show from close range. Craig is another fella you need to go
and see if you haven't. He has a great range of tunes and really knows how to
work a crowd.

As I mentioned earlier, I will be up in Sydney this week. Check out my gigs
below and come and say Gday.    It will be great to have a yarn with you.

I hope all is well and you all have a lovely Easter. I look forward to seeing
you out on the track somewhere.

Gday,
Hows things where you are.

Well time is flying, it's April already and Easter is
less then two weeks away. I only put the xmas tree
away not long ago.
Well things are going great for me at the moment. I
came back last week from a fun week in Western
Australia. I headed up to Kalgoorlie and played at one
of my favourite pubs in Australia, the York Hotel.
It's always great there, and John and Dale are awesome
publicans. You should drop in and have a drink, and
tell em' I sent you.

Now I'm back in Victoria and getting ready for the
next couple of weeks. But first, last weekend was a
hoot. I headed down to the Churchill Saloon Bar. The
day started of great and just got better. Scotty and
Mel from "Crusin the Country" ran their first ute show
and it was excellent. I'm already looking forward to
next years show.  We then headed in convoy through the
streets of Churchill to the Churchill Saloon Bar.  And
what a night we had. DJ, Richo is doin a great job up
in the water tank, getting people primed before the
main acts come on stage.  Steve Forde and the Flange
got the joint pumping and then the great talents of
Travis Sinclair just blew the crowd away with an
awesome set.  I had a blast especially when my raffle
ticket was drawn out to win a new set of Lightforce
Driving lights.  Thanks to Lightforce for the donation,
they will look good up on the bar on my ute.
It was great for the new publican Craig to have a
huge crowd in there. It just proved that the Churchill
Saloon Bar is Victoria's premier Country Venue.

I'm at number 12 on the country music charts and
pretty happy to get this high with my song "The Way He
Rolls His Swag".  Thanks again for the great support
everyone has given me, especially the radio stations
who play my songs.
I also have been working with Alan Kealy the producer
of my first film clip. We have been having fun editing
all the footage.   I must say this is a different kettle
of fish compared to writing songs and performing,
however it has been fun.  "A Fire in the Bar" will be
released in May as a film clip and also to Radio
through the NFS compilation. So look out for it.

I hope all is well and I look forward to seeing you
out on the track somewhere. Below are some of my gigs
coming up. Come along and say G'day.

Number 12 and the Burning Bar
Hello,
Thought I'd drop a line on the email bush telegraph
and say G'day.

I'm pleased to say, my song 'The Way He Rolls His
Swag" has risen up the Top 30 country charts to number
12. It's awesome and I'm so excited to see how far it
goes. Go to www.nfspublicity.com.au/charts/ct30.html

and check it out.
Thanks to everyone who requests the song and also to
the fantastic radio stations all over the country who
play it. Check out Nick Erbys CMR and request "The Way
He Rolls His Swag".

Recently we filmed my first ever film clip for a song
titled "A Fire in the Bar". It was an awesome day.
The song is about a couple who meet at a bar (How
Country is that) and they create sparks with their
passion and the bar, pub and whole town burn down. All
the shenanigans that go on around them is unseen by
them as they are so in love they wouldn't care if the
sky fell in.
We set up a bar in the middle of a paddock and I
invited a heap of mates to come along and create a pub
atmosphere. Create they did. We had about 50 utes and
100 people turn up and we danced and sang and had the
odd drink. Also a great Spit roast was put on by
Property owner Steve Bridie.  Big thanks to Craig from
the Churchill Saloon bar www.churchillsaloon.com.au

for his awesome support. Also I had a great time with
Mel n Scotty from "Crusin' the Country"

for the fantastic support. The whole day was
marvellous. We had the perfect setting and weather.

Kealy. He and his crew made the filming easy and lots
of fun.
I now look forward to editing the 4 hours of footage
to make a 3 minute clip. The clip will be released in
May.

Well I'm off to Western Australia for a week or so. If
you are out and about over there, come and say G'day.

Gday Folks,
Lee Forster is very excited to gain a position into the Top 30 Country charts.
Lee Forster's song "The Way He Rolls His Swag" is his first appearance on the
charts. "The Way he rolls His Swag" is featured on many playlists around the
country including Nick Erby's CMR. You find these charts on the NFS website.
www.nfspublicity.com.au/

"The Way He Rolls His Swag" came about whilst on tour with Brian Young.
Inspired by the R.M. Williams novel "Beneath whose Hand".   R.M. Williams
mentions that a mans worth is measured by the way he rolls his swag. The swag
is one of his only possessions out on the track, it is his home. R.M. Williams
is a pioneer of the Australian way and Lee felt some of his thoughts needed to
be heard in song.  Touring with Youngie, 6 other muso's, living out of tucker
boxes and swags, proved first hand how factual R.M.Williams beliefs are.

It is an exciting time for Lee Forster and his music.  Coming back from Tamworth
with Nominations in the TIARAS and Victorian Country Music Awards and a WIN in
the TSA/Capital News New Songwriter, is setting Lee up for a big year.

Lee is looking forward to his first South Coast Country Music Festival at Mt
Gambier and also a trip up to Barham on the Murray River at the Barham
Festival.

Lee is available for Festivals, Country Music Clubs, Rodeos, B&S Balls, Ute
shows and any other country event. Just write to us and we can give you great
prices for solo and band packages.

Lee's current album "The Way He Rolls His Swag" is still available for $15 with

"The Way he Rolls His Swag"
took out the prize -best new songwriter

G'day Folks,
Welcome back home after a great Tamworth. And if you didn't make Tamworth, well
you missed a beauty.

I went to Tamworth with award two nominations. The nominations were
1. TSA/Capital News New Songwriter
2. TIARA in the Male Vocal

I had "The Way he Rolls His Swag" and "A Fire in the Bar" (co-written with Stuie
French) in the top five which was a great achievement. I was blown away when the
"Swag" took out the prize. I had a fantastic night, as you do when you win an
award! To have a song recognized by my peers and be the best new songwriter is
a great feeling. I would like to thank Ron and Bev Daniels of the TSA and also
Capital News for a great night and an awesome boost for my career.

The other nomination was for a TIARA in the Male Vocal. It was awesome and I am
honored to make the top five in such a prestigious award. Congratulations to
Darren Colston on winning.

The entire festival was awesome. The Band and I had some great gigs. We had fun
with some acoustic sets at the Tamworth City Plaza and with Craig Byrne on the
Coke Stage. Sandra Humphries invited me along to her shows at the Central
Hotel, her audiences were very supportive. As was Billy Bridge's crowd at West
Diggers. It is great to see Bill back in the country after a stint in India.

A highlight performance was the Tomkins Showcase at West's Big Backyard. Alan
and Barb Tomkins always have a great lineup of artists. Al Tomkins builds the
best guitars in this country and it's proven every year when he gets so much
support from big crowds and artists at his annual showcase.

Busking was a significant learning curve. It was great to see so many people out
on the street. Even better when they stopped to listen, have a yarn, buy a cd
and even throw some coins into the Tomkins guitar case. It was great to get
some good mates, Royden Donohue, Penelope Somerville, Adam Kilpatrick, and Rob
Wilson who dropped in on us and sang a few tunes. Busking would have to be one
of the hardest gigs I've done in a while..but it was fun.

The Tamworth festival has set the pace and it's now on with the rest of the
year. I have a lot planned with the making of my first film clip (A Fire in the
Bar) coming up within the next month. During Mid June, I will be back into the
Studio with Stuie French to record a full album of brand new Songs.

My current album "The Way He Rolls His Swag" is still available for $15 with a
free hat tag. So email me or write to PO Box 2474 Bakery Hill BC Vic 3354.

G'day
It's been awhile since we've had a yarn.  Like most of us, life has been pretty busy out here on the track.  However, you'll be pleased to know I have a brand new single recorded and ready for country music ears. A song titled "The Way He Rolls His Swag" is the first single of a 7 track mini album OUT NOW.
"The Way He Rolls His Swag" came about whilst on tour with Brian Young.  Inspired by the R.M. Williams novel "Beneath whose Hand".   R.M. Williams mentions that a mans worth is measured by the way he rolls his swag.  The swag is one of his only possessions out on the track, it is his home.  Touring with Youngie, 6 other muso's, living out of tucker boxes and our swags, proved first hand how factual R.M. Williams beliefs are

I went back to my good mate Stuie French to record these new songs.  Once again Stuie showed his expertise as one of Australia's best producers.  His talents have brought my tunes alive.  We had some great musicians play on this album, the time and effort Stuie exserts is awesome.

The CD "The Way He Rolls His Swag" has new originals and a couple of covers.   Stuie features on a duet, sharing the duties on an Aussie flavoured Merle Haggard classic "Harold's Super Service".

The CD is $15 and comes with a free hat tag

G'day Folks,
Welcome to the first "Waterhole" links letter. I want to have a burl in telling Australia about the fantastic country life we have. It's not only to let you know what I am up to but what some of my mates are up to. So if you have seen or have a website on anything country life related whether it is about a country show you've seen or a B&S Ball you attended (remembered), let me know about it. It could be anything, it could even be your favourite camp fire recipe or something Dinky-di that doesn't get let out on the bush telegraph often. What ever it is send it to me at "The Waterhole" leeforster@pocketmail.com.au  on your electronic blower and I'll whack it in. So have a look through your gear and find some great things. Any suggestions welcome, I would love to have a yarn with you. Bring out the Australian Country Life.

Country Town of the month
www.mukinbudin.wa.gov.au
Well this little town has it heaps going for it. Situated about 300 clicks North East of Perth in WA, it has many great sites to see including the spectacular "Beringbooding Rock", the largest rock water catchment tank in Australia. Go to this wonderful website and check it out. The 800 odd people living there are fantastic folk, I know I have met some of them first hand. They have lots of great events throughout the whole year. Check em out whilst in WA.

Best Campfire Recipe
Well I'm gonna have first crack of the whip. I have done a bit of traveling over the years and have many campfire nights. And my fav is, the never let you down "Lamb chops" in foil. Yes, however I found, if you sprinkle them before you wrap em' with the good old savings "French Onion Soup" packet mix, they become the tastiest chops you'll ever have. You will be whistling waltzing matilda. And to go with them you can't beat Spuds in foil. Cut em' in half and sprinkle some garlic salt or butter in and wow. And this can be done at home on the webber or even the oven. Sorry I am a meat and potato man. It is easy yes I know but I love it.
If anyone finds a great site on Aussie bush tucker let me know.

Aussie Website of the month
www.bsballs.org

I found this great website it's based all around Utes, B&S balls and lots of fun check it out. It gives you a great calendar of up and coming balls. And it has just about every Ball across Australia covered. You can sign up and become a member for free. Chat to other members about Balls and other things. It also has some great links on it.

Aussie Country Music Artist of the month
Two artists this month. The reason being, well they compliment each other.

Camille Te Nahu
www.camilletenahu.com
Camille has the wonderful voice that you hear on my Kimberley Gold EP singing harmonies. However she has her own self titled album. It is a wonderful collection of tunes and sung beautifully. Camille has performed with Kasey Chambers, Beccy Cole, Adam Harvey and Gina Jeffreys. She is an awesome performer.

The Feral Swing Katz
www.feralswingkatz.com
The Ferals are world renown for their great musicianship. They have a brand new album out called "Round 3". The Ferals are Stuart French and Michel Rose. These two blokes play with everyone from Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley and even the late Slim Dusty. They play many recording sessions. You would have seen them if you go to many Australian artist country shows. They won a Gold Guitar for instrumental of the year a couple of years back. Check them out if you want to see two of the best musicians in the country.

Now why they compliment each other. Well I'm sure in not the too distant future we will see the great talents of Chet Raynor Te-Nahu French. Yes he is the bub of Camille and Stuart. So a big congratulations to them both. Check out their sites for more info on these talented mates. Camille is also an integral part of the Feral Swing Katz and you'll hear her awesome vocals on many tracks on the Round 3 Album

Tamworth was awesome for me this year. Being nominated in the TIARAS and TSA was huge for me.   And I must congratulate everyone who did win.   Both awards nights were fantastic and I enjoyed being part of them.   The gigs were great fun as well. The Brian Young Show, and the Cowboys Bar gigs with Brianna Lee, Bob Howe and Alan Tomkins I really enjoyed, Also the various Showcases I did, .The Tomkins, Rum Entertainment Songwriters, GSL, New Generation and the TSA showcases were awesome.

My latest Single, "She gives to Me" which was released on NFS 85 is doing well and getting considerable airplay.

I'm also putting a band together and a new live show. It will be new for most Eastern Staters as my past years I've been in the west. But its gonna be a lot of fun.

Congratulations Lee !!!

Kimberley Gold is Lee Forster’s debut single.  This is a promotional single in which he hopes to gain radio air play and interest in his songs.

Kimberley Gold has come about from a unique opportunity.  The Kimberley Diamond Company is situated

along the Gibb River Road and mine a rare yellow diamond in which they call Kimberley Gold.  Lee wrote the song for the official opening of the mine last September. The chairman of the board, Miles Kennedy, loved it so much he sent Lee to the recording studio.

Kimberley Gold was recorded at the Swingin doors Studio in Sydney and produced by Stuart French, who is the Australian leading country guitarist.  This little EP is filled with some of the most talented Australian

country musicians.

This hasn’t been Lees only lucky break.  In 2001, he graduated from the Australian College of Country Music.  In 2002, he traveled with the famous Brian Young Show throughout Outback Australia.

This year at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Lee was a Grand Finalist in the prestigious Starmaker

Quest.  All these achievements have come about from Lees  upbringing in a very country music orientated

family. Both his parents were part of the Slim Dusty Travelling Country Band many years ago.

Currently, Lee is part of the dynamic Kimberley Diamond Company team recovering world class gemstones.  He works 20 days on and spends his 10 days off in Broome or travelling Australia.  So he knows about hard work and attention to detail.  He also knows a bit about the bush and the associated lifestyle.  He has penned close to 300 songs and is always writing, and hunting down new ideas.

Tamworth Ragepage congratulates Lee for making number 54 /100 on the worldwide chart below
