MARK TEMPANY AND ALISON HAMS

Join with the "Kids Of Whyalla" to support the Jeans For Genes cause, by hosting their very own
"Jamm 4 Genes".
Jeans for Genes is a major fundraiser of the Children's Medical Research Institute.
The scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute are working to try to prevent genetic diseases (leukaemia, muscular dystrophy, genetic defects and many other disorders) before they occur in our children, or where that is not possible to develop better treatments.
Jamm 4 Genes is a recent initiative where Musicians join together to raise awareness of the cause.
Mark Tempany and Alison Hams have a huge roster of vocal and guitar students in Whyalla, and some of these students will be making their stage debut at the Westland Shopping Centre Food Court Stage on Thursday Night August 2nd at 6pm.
Mark and Alison hope that the people of Whyalla will come along to not only encourage local singers, but to support a great cause, by making a donation, or purchasi
ng a Fundraising Dog-Tag, and other Jeans For Genes merchandise at various outlets throughout the Centre.

Mark and Alison for Hall of Fame
Talented Whyalla singers and songwriters Alison Hams and Mark Tempany will be honoured with induction into the South Australian Country Music Hall Of Fame at the South Australian Country Music Festival and Awards held in Barmera over the June long weekend.

Organisers say her induction is a result of her "dedication to her country music career for over 15 years, and her fine reputation as a performer, singer, presenter, songwriter and top class musician."

Festival co-ordinator, Dot McDonnell, said "Alison has progressed steadily from being a multiple talent quest winner to become a major force in the Australian independent country music industry - and she's played a proud role in promoting South Australia in her travels to perform around Australia and overseas. She has maintained a strong connection with assisting young musical talent through her school student tutoring, talent quest band provisions, and her conducting of music workshops for youth far and wide - so we consider her an extremely worthy inductee!".

In November 2006 Alison won a prestigious SA Great Award for the Arts in her home Flinders/Outback Region - and she says her inclusion on the SA Hall of Fame is simply "The most memorable and meaningful surprise" in her career. Alison's stellar previous 18 months included providing the national support (along with husband Mark Tempany) for UK superstar Charlie Landsborough on his 2006 Australian tour - and supporting Kate Ceberano in Adelaide.

Organisers say Mark "has established his reputation as one of the finest vocalists and songwriters in the Australian country music industry over many years, and by far-reaching national and international touring commitments. With five highly successful all-original independent albums and numerous radio hits to his name, he has maintained a steadfast dedication to being an independent artist who creates in his performances a unique and powerful connection with his listeners."

Both Mark and Alison have been Star Maker Grand Finalists - and winners in major international songwriting contests such as the Unisong International Song Contest and the UK Songwriting Competition. Between them, they have self-produced 13 albums, and sold close to 20,000 copies of these nationally and internationally.

Mark first came to the Riverland Country Music Festival in 2004. Alison has maintained a much longer connection and been integral in recent years as part of the official Talent Quest and SA Country Music Awards Bands. Alison also had early success as an amateur in this very talent quest which laid a strong foundation for all she has achieved since.

Previous inductees into the Hall of Fame include Slim Dusty and Kasey Chambers.

Mark Tempany joins Alison Hams and 2007 Golden Guitar Finalist Peter Pratt for his 7th consecutive year of fabulous concerts at the Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music during the Australasian Country Music Festival.

"Concerts in the Chapel" have run since Mark created this unique and special venue in 2000 with a stated aim to establish an intimate, theatre-style performance space for the very best in Australian original music.

Since that single opening show (performed by Mark alone), this concert series has grown to 3 annual festival-time concerts also featuring Mark's talented wife and fellow songwriter and performer Alison Hams. In 2005 & 2006 Mark and Alison were joined by the brilliant, Golden Guitar-winning Michael Fix - and in 2007 Golden Guitar Finalist Peter Pratt will become part of the "Concerts in the Chapel" family!

"Concerts in the Chapel" provide an audience with the best possible chance to see live music performed in a historic and intimate setting (the Chapel holds a maximum of 90 people). A FREE supper is served in the courtyard at interval each night, and concert-goers also have the chance to meet the artists in person, and to purchase their products from the Chapel store.

Bookings are strongly recommended on 0418 700 819, although tickets can be purchased at the door (if available) on the night.

MARK AND ALISON RETURN TO MILDURA 2006
Mark Tempany and Alison Hams return to Mildura as crowd favourites - having had a very successful 2006. As national support act for UK star Charlie Landsborough in February, and for one of Australia's most respected and popular performers Kate Ceberano at the Adelaide Hilton, Mark and Alison's year gets better and better! The release of their new twin CD pack Summer Dreams - Remember has been a hit - and Coopers Golden Saddle Winner Mark hosted his Concerts in the Chapel at Tamworth in January to sell out audiences. Alison's original songs have been gaining her much critical acclaim, with inclusions on the soundtrack of an Australian feature film, and Second Fiddle WINNING the 2005 UK Songwriting Contest.

From FRIDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER at the GATEWAY TAVERN right through to SUNDAY 1ST OCTOBER at the COOMEALLA GOLF CLUB for the COSTA BROTHERS SHOW the duo will be working a full schedule of concerts and appearances. Check out www.milduracountrymusic.com.au  or www.marktempany.com  for details.

A star-studded lineup included Paul McCloud, Peter Horan, Rodney Vincent, Dean Perret, the Costa Brothers, Angela Hayden, Lynette Guest, Hank & Donna Koopman, Tom Maxwell and Darren Horley.
Perfect weather (complete with full moon!) meant the event was a real winner and is highly recommended for anyone who loves their country music in a uniquely relaxed setting.

Aussies at Bay Of Islands Country Rock Festival
Alison Hams and Mark Tempany are just two of a number of Aussies performing at the Bay of Islands Country Music Festival (NZ) in May.
The two Stormfront Productions artists are no strangers to overseas touring, with Alison most recently performing in Nashville, and Mark also touring the USA and Europe.

As well as a number of solo spots throughout the festival, they will be sharing the stage at Paihia Pacific Resort, where they will present a show similar to the very successful Concert In The Chapel, that regular Tamworth festival fans would be familiar with.

Mark has just returned from a very successful three day stint at the National Folk festival in Canberra, and Alison continues her endorsement deal with Daisy Rock, who are providing her with a brand new bass to play during her time in New Zealand.

Other Australian artists include:- Allan Webster, Grae Addison, Roland Storm, Sandra Humphries, Stephen R Cheney and Todd Williams.
