- Simply Bushed on the new stage at Joe
Maguire’s Pub, which has undergone a major
- facelift and has never looked
better. The food’s great there too!
Don’t adjust your browsers, folks. These are photos taken at Joe
Maguire’s Pub in Tamworth, under the new ownership of Oscar and
Suzanne Lennon.
The historic Tamworth hotel has undergone a major transformation
in the past few years and the back room was the last area of the
hotel to get a facelift, with renovations completed just prior to
Hats Off.
Oscar and Suzanne enlisted the talents of Campbelltown-based bush
band, Simply Bushed, for their Hats Off agenda.
While Friday night didn’t set any crowd records, the joint was
jumping on Saturday, with patrons having a ball listening to the
great music of this fun outfit from Sydney’s western districts.
The majority of patrons at Joe’s on Saturday night were locals –
fancy that – local yokels getting out enjoying country music! What
next?
Several people in the audience were visitors for the Hats Off
festival, coming from Tweed Heads and Newcastle and all points in
between.
While Simply Bushed was in town, they took the opportunity to
record a new album at John Lee’s Fat Track Studio, at Moore Creek.
You should be able to hear the results of that session at either
the Gympie Muster, where the boys will be performing, or most
definitely in Tamworth for January 2007, where they plan to launch
the disc in style at Joe Maguire’s Pub.
- Louise Trowbridge and Brian Penrose,
both of Tamworth, enjoying the atmosphere at
- Joe Maguire’s Pub over Hats Off to
Country.
-
- Cheryl Small of Tweed Heads, and Dave
Walmsley of Newcastle, who were with a large group
- of friends in Tamworth for Hats Off
to Country.
