TIFFNEY & DANNY ‘BREAK THE DROUGHT’
Tiffney Stroh & Danny Hooper certainly proved that South Australian Country Music is alive and definitely worthy of national recognition. Tiffney hailing from Mt Barker and Danny from Clare both achieved a ‘dream come true’ by attaining a top 3 position in the Maton Talent Search and performing on the Main Stage at the Toyota Gympie Muster held recently at Amamoor State Park near Gympie Qld.
Both traveled up there purely for the experience of the Muster and to hopefully gain some national exposure, little knowing they would both succeed on not only the Main Stage but due to the nasty weather have the opportunity to perform also on the Muster Club stage earlier in the week.
For Tiffney, the current SA Snr Champion of Champions, this has opened the door to Qld and she is looking forward to performing up there again in November at the Qld Champion of Champions. Because of the successful response, plans are being negotiated for Tiffney to release her first EP at the Muster in 2008.
Danny ventured to the Muster enroute to Sydney to film his new video clip for CMC. This is the 2nd clip off his CD The Legacy and should be out in the next couple of months. His first video clip ‘Every Reason’ received a Top 40 position and this one looks to be another success. If the Gympie response is an indication of the popularity of these two performers, there is little doubt we will be seeing a lot of them over the coming months. Three time graduate, 17yr old Tiffney Stroh, of Mt Barker SA was awarded the South Australian Council for Country Music’s Senior Champion Award at the SACCM Champion of Champions held on Saturday 28th July at the Adelaide Country Music Club. The prize package for the Senior Champion includes RM Williams clothing, recording with Q.E.M, photography session with Rising Star Media as well as the ultimate prize of representing South Australia at the Trans Tasman Festival on Norfolk Island in May 2008. Amidst a field of highly creditable performers both male & female, Tiffney showed adjudicators, fellow competitors and the audience how commitment, determination and hard work reap its own rewards. Performing since 2004 has seen this young lady travel thousands of kilometers throughout the eastern states in her quest to become a
recognized performer in the country music genre gathering along the way a swag of awards including the 2005 SA & Vic Jnr Champ: ACTS: Overall at Blue Lake, CCMA, Port Pirie, Dubbo, Dapto, Parkes as well as the current NSW/ACT National Jnr Champion to name a few. ‘ Winning this award is the ultimate achievement in my home state – thank you South Australia – thank you SACCM for giving me the acknowledgement and the opportunity to proudly represent you as your Champion’ 2007 has been an amazing year for Tiffney; it has seen the formation of her own band “No Worries’ with other young SA performers. It has also seen her return home after graduating from the Tamworth Camerata for the 3rd year consecutively. Tiffney now waits on notification for her application to the CMAA College of Country Music (18yrs & over) held each year prior to the Tamworth Country Music Festival. If successful, Tiffney will be one of a minority to be accepted at such a young age. CAMERATE GRADUATE WINS BACK TO BACK ‘OVERALL’ Mt Barker local, Tiffney Stroh has just returned from what proved to be another very successful journey to NSW. Competing at the Western Plains Country Music Championships in Dubbo for the second time was a challenge to the young performer. Amidst a field of highly talented young performers aged 17 and under, including Ann-Maree Ritchie, Wacey Coates, Loretta Lewington & Jessie Fairweather. Tiffney’s star shone very brightly, being awarded 1st place in all sections: Vocal, Gospel, Australian & Country Rock, taking special note of the Gospel, where you could have heard a pin drop during her rendition of ‘Mary, Did You Know’. Tiffney would like to take this opportunity to thank Ivan & Claire Mattschoss of Mattschoss Guitars for their support. Their sponsorship of her new ‘baby’ is adding another dimension to her performances, the sound is truly magnificent! Taking 2nd place in the Duet section was also a real buzz for Tiffney as she is now competing with her brother Tim, a newcomer to the country music scene. A highlight was again being awarded the Overall Junior Award. ‘To win the Overall back to back is a first for me, and I am extremely happy’. “It is the first time I have entered where I have already won and the award from Dubbo is one I will treasure for a long time”. “The Western Plains Championship is held each year at the Dubbo RSL and it is one of the best well-run festivals I have come across in all the thousands of kilometers I travel each year”. “The people are warm and friendly and very very supportive of all contestants, especially the juniors”. Tiffney will now head to Barmera for the South Australian Country Music Festival to appear as an Artist, as well as her appearance with her new band “No Worries’ at the Gawler Country Music Club on June 17th, before heading off interstate for 8 weeks. Tiffney will attend Camerata this year courtesy of the scholarship from the Tamworth Regional Council. At the conclusion of Camerata, Tiffney and her mum, plan to travel through NSW and Qld to visit many of the Country Music Clubs and begin planning her itinery for 2008. Tiffney was scheduled to compete at the Gore Festival in NZ but due to a hiccup with her passport, she is now considering entering at the Gympie Muster in late August before traveling home. “We will just go with the flow and see where our travels lead us, it should be a great experience and I look forward to catching up with all my friends and supports up north”. ‘NO WORRIES’ OFF TO A FLYING START!!!
Talented young performer from South Australia, Tiffney Stroh has now added another dimension to her already incredible achievements. Together with a group of young musicians she has formed what is predicted to become the most popular country music band on the Adelaide circuit. Already cemented as a solo performer with many shows to her credit including her regular show each month at BB’s Café in Mt Barker, the Easter weekend saw Tiffney & ‘No Worries’ hit off with performances at the Langhorne Creek Ute Muster and the Southern Country Music Club offering the audiences a wide repertoire from the Hank Williams classics to Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel. Patrons were treated to a show of professionalism, variety and were in awe at the ability of such a young group of entertainers. Consisting of Tiffney on vocals/rhythm, Sarah Griffin on harmonies/backing/rhythm, Simon Wegner on drums, Simon Ranger on bass and Shaun Wegner on lead guitar, this group is one you will no doubt be seeing a lot of in the coming year. Due to Tiffney’s other commitments, ‘No Worries’ public performances will be limited until after her return from the Tamworth Camerata College held in early July. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN WINS AT SOUTH COAST COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL Yet again, this versatile and talented young lady has shown that hard work and commitment does pay off… Tiffney Stroh, a two-time Camerata graduate, continues to establish herself in the Australian country music industry. Just 16 years of age, Tiffney was awarded the Jnr Overall Award on Saturday night at the South Coast Country Music Festival held at the Dapto Leagues Club. She also placed first in the U17’s Vocal, Open Country Rock and Open Duet with Joanne Fairall from Cowra in central NSW. “I love the talent quests – you get to meet up with everyone and it gives you the opportunity for exposure out of South Australia”. “I entered Dapto because they are such supportive people and NSW has such a lot to offer to country music enthusiasts and performers alike”. This latest edition of awards add to last year's titles including Junior & Open Vocal, Junior & Open Country Rock, Gospel, Australiana and Overall Junior Champion titles at the Western Plains Championships, Tamworth CCMA Winter, Australian Country Talent Seekers Quest (ACTS) and the ACT/NSW Jnr Champion. She was also awarded Overall Senior Champion at Blue Lake Muster, Mt Gambier & the Northern Country Music Festival at Port Pirie. Following in the footsteps of such accomplished performers as Beccy Cole, Gina Jeffries, Jake Nikolai to name a few, Tiffney now has an exciting couple of months coming up. Concentrating on performing with her new band ‘No Worries’, she is hoping to travel to NZ in May to be a part of the Gore Gold Guitar Festival, heading back to NSW for the Forbes & Dubbo Festivals as well as the Port Augusta Festival in April. AMAZING 2006 FOR CAMERATA GRADUATE!!

Tiffney Stroh has once again achieved a milestone in what has been a fantastic year for the 16 year old from Mt Barker SA.
Receiving qualification to enter the NSW/ACT Eighteen & Under Champions Showcase was a reward in itself. - performing onstage at the Catholic Club at Campbelltown in Sydney’s outer suburbs was reward for all the hard work this young lady has put into her music over the past 12 months. Amid a field of 15 very talented young performers who have all won major awards at Country Music Festivals this year, Tiffney once again showed her professionalism and talent performing ‘Diamantina Drover’ & ‘Blame It On Your Heart’ to be awarded 1st place. Tiffney was unsure of performing right up till the day as she had been taken ill with a bout of tonsillitis in the week leading up to the competition and with the long trip over, decided to ‘just go and have a look’, but upon arrival, the support for her at this venue was something she had never experienced before and it was ‘all go’ from there. Tiffney would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim Garrett and his band of volunteers for giving her this opportunity and recommends it as a pathway for any up and coming performer with a passion to succeed in the country music arena.
She has now returned to South Australia and has a busy 12 months ahead of her with bookings for shows at various venues including her regular show at BB’s Café as well as appearances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January then on to Bungendore (Canberra), Lake Charliegrark (Vic), Port Lincoln before returning to Camerata 2007 in July.



CAMERATE GRADUATE TAKES TOP AWARD Amid a field of 12 open age performers, 16 year old Tiffney Stroh of Mt Barker SA has taken the top award at the Australian Country Talent Seekers Quest held over the long weekend as part of The Parkes Spectacular Country Music Festival. ‘To have my name engraved on a trophy with such names as Dianna Corcoran, Travis Collins and best of all Felicity Urquhart is an amazing privilege and so inspiring” The prize package not only included trophies & cash but also recording time with Grant Luhrs at Flying Fox Studios in Wagga Wagga, appearances at the Bungendore Festival & The Parkes Spectacular both in 2007. Tiffney was also eligible to enter the Festival Talent Quest where she placed 1st in Country Rock & Gospel which helped her achieve ‘Overall Junior’. This award allows her to be in consideration for the 2007 Eighteen & under Invitation Showcase in Sydney. Tiffney, a 2005 & 2006 graduate of Camerata adds this award to the many from 2006 including Overall Senior at both the Blue Lake & Northern Country Music Festivals, Overall Junior at the Western Plains Championships (Dubbo) and the CCMA Winter Talent Quest held in Tamworth each July. This win also included a scholarship courtesy of the Tamworth Regional Council which will see her return to Camerata in 2007. Performing for just on 4 years has seen Tiffney reach a level of achievement rarely seen in a young person and her many performances indicate and are testimony to the amazing talent that she has and is continuing to develop. Her win in Dubbo sees her onstage at the Campbelltown Catholic Club in October 2006 for the NSW/ACT Eighteen & Under Invitation Showcase which is a first for a South Australian. Tiffney performs at all her local Country Music Clubs, is proudly a member of Southern and Gawler Clubs and is a regular support for Relay for Life venues all over SA. This year has seen her perform at the Elder Park Carols by Candlelight in Adelaide before a crowd of 35,000. She is now branching out to include shows at Pubs and Cafes and is regularly supported by Greg Bunnett on lead/base and her dad Olaf on harmonica/rhythm. She takes this opportunity to thank Graeme and Lynne Hugo for giving her the experience of performing with him and his band Ironbark whenever and wherever she can fit it in to her busy schedule. Tiffney has accepted a booking with Proud Australia to perform each week for passengers cruising on the MV Expedition (formerly Proud Mary), many of whom are interstate & overseas visitors. To attain these achievements in such a short period of time is not only acknowledgement of her talent but also of her commitment and dedication to her career and country music in this state. To Tiffney, music is a way of not only expressing her feelings, but giving of yourself in every song.
