CURTAINS FOR THE REST AS TOM HITS #1
After just 11 weeks on the Country Tracks Top 30, Australia’s leading weekly Country Music singles chart, TOM CURTAIN has jumped to the #1 spot with his latest single Smack Bang.

Smack Bang, Toms first #1 song and the title track of his debut album, is the third hit single from the album following the previous chart success of A Man is Not A Camel and The Windmill Song.

It’s been a big week for Tom who returned home after performing on The Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive which finished last weekend to be greeted with the news of Smack Bang’s success.

The talented Queensland horsebreaker and performer won’t be out of the saddle for long. During the cattle drive, Tom was interviewed by Richard Carlton of Channel 9’s Sixty Minutes and the segment on the cattle drive is expected to be shown this Sunday 19 June.

Also ABC Radio's John Nutting will be interviewing Tom this Friday night, 17 June, on his Queensland Country Programme, 7pm-10pm, ABC Queensland Regional Radio.

And in other news, Tom will be performing on Wednesday 22 June at the ABC Country Hour 60th Concert at Pine Creek, Northern Territory, and also appearing at the 2005 Mildura Country Music Festival in September/October.

Tom will be taking a short break between gigs and going back to the country that he loves to complete several horse breaking contracts before going out on tour from October to December. Further details of this upcoming tour will be announced soon

Tom wants to thank all his fans, media and radio stations for playing his songs and their support through buying his album or just stopping to have a yarn.

TOM CURTAIN RIDES THE CHART
The latest single Smack Bang from Tom Curtain’s album Smack Bang! has jumped into the top 5, at spot 4 for the week 28 May on the Country Tracks Top 30, Australia’s leading weekly Country Music singles chart.

Tom wants to thank all his fans, media and radio stations for playing his songs and their support either through buying his album or stopping to have a yarn.

As reported recently, Tom is performing every night on “The Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive”, singing his diverse range of songs, written about real Australian characters he has met in the bush.

After three weeks in the saddle, Tom has reached the mid-point of this epic journey, which recreates the splendour and romance of the historic cattle drives of days gone by. The journey started in Birdsville, Queensland and will finish in Marree, South Australia on 12 June. Overseas and local visitors will take home memories, plenty of photographs and Tom’s album to remind them of this experience.
