BRUCE McCUMSTIE THROWS THE BILLY ON IN TAMWORTH
Two years ago a phone call in a very Irish brogue from Will Creedon, Manager of Harrigans Irish Pub in the Hunter Valley Vineyards changed Bruce McCumstie’s life dramatically.

Bruce had relocated to the Hunter Valley NSW from Queensland in 1999 and began performing in many venues throughout NSW.

Bruce is always about country music and whenever possible all Australian Music which features in his production show ‘Throw the Billy On’.
So where did Bruce get to? Why isn’t he on the club circuit any more?

Performing All Australian music all the time was just a dream until that phone call from Harrigans – ‘could he do his All Australian Show ‘Throw the Billy On’ for Harrigans?’
‘Sure – I’ll get my dairy, when did you want it?’ was Bruce’s response.
‘All the time – every week day!’ Will replied wholeheartedly.

TWO YEARS LATER – ‘Throw the Billy On’ is still resident lunchtime every weekday at Harrigans Irish Pub, Broke Road - Pokolbin in the beautiful Hunter Valley Vineyards.

‘Throw the Billy On’ is about to take its very first break to showcase at the 2007 Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Along with Bruce’s solo tribute to the great Willie Nelson ‘Stardust’ his two shows will be an evening feature of the Coco-Cola Hands of Fame Park.

The shows are kindly sponsored by Harrigans Irish Pub and Hunter Valley Gardens and supported by Coca-Cola, Rural Press Events and Capital News.

‘Nelson and Mac – Back to Back’
Two great shows in one! ‘Throw the Billy On’ and ‘Stardust’ a very personal musical journey through the life and music of the great Willie Nelson.
With a voice that is often mistaken for Willie himself Bruce’s presentation has been applauded by many fans as the best there is!

Bruce is one of the Host at the
Horseshoe Bend Roundup
The “Horseshoe Bend Roundup” was originally the concept of local country recording artists Alby Pool, Rob Wilson and Bruce McCumstie, to provide a night for both established and emerging country artists from the Hunter Valley and Central Coast with an emphasis on fostering the amazing group of young country performers who come from in and around Newcastle. Each week these three performers, assisted by Donella Plane take a turn in hosting the night and introducing other performers and special guests.

Every week highlights a special guest and over the past two and a half years that the night has been going this has included great performers and favourites such as 2004 Starmaker Winner Travis Collins and 2004 Golden Guitar Winners Sara Storer (record total of 7!), Adam Harvey (Male Vocalist) and “Bella” (Vocal Group of the Year) both as a group and individually “– Karen O’Shea, Lyn Bowtell and Kate Ballantyne. There has also been a myriad of other guests including internationals Catherine Britt, Bill Chambers (Casey’s dad and guitarist) along with Johnny Green (Blues Cowboys) plus many many more too numerous to mention
