Multi-award winning artists Gina Jeffreys, Beccy Cole and Sara Storer have announced dates for what is being hailed as the concert
tour of 2007.
“Songbirds” is the brainchild of the girls themselves.
They have been friends for some time and through the years have also guested on each others live shows and recordings, so it
seemed to be a natural step for them put together a concept where they could share the stage along with some of their individual
songs. Beccy, Gina and Sara are of course three of Australia’s most acclaimed and successful country music singers. Between them
they have 24 Golden Guitar Awards along with a haul of ARIAs, Entertainer of the Year, APRAs and certified Gold and Platinum sales awards.
Audiences can not only expect to hear the hit songs from three of the most beautiful individual voices on any stage, any where, but
will also be treated to some very special “trio” performances of songs chosen by the girls from their own album collections.
It’s now more than a decade since Gina Jeffreys won the Toyota Star Maker Quest, marking the start of a remarkable career that’s
taken Gina to the top of the country music industry.
She has earned numerous accolades, performed to sell-out crowds and sold volumes of records.
But the release of an exquisite new album, ‘Walks Of Life’, heralds a new chapter in the Gina Jeffreys story. Produced by husband Rod
McCormack, ‘Walks Of Life’ showcases a new vocal maturity on a collection of songs that are near and dear to Gina’s heart.
There’s no disputing that Beccy Cole is the reigning poster girl of Australian country music.

Beccy Cole Biography
February 2007

There’s no disputing that Beccy Cole is the reigning poster girl of Australian country music.
In January, Beccy’s latest hit single, the heartfelt and honest “Poster Girl (Wrong Side of the World)”, swept all before it to take out a remarkable three Golden Guitars at country’s most prestigious awards.

The song was written after a trip to Iraq to entertain Australian troops, as a response to an irate letter from a fan. It won Beccy Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Female Artist of the Year, and has captured the imagination and hearts of fans and industry figures alike for its powerful message of compassion and peace.

The hat trick of Golden Guitars is the latest in a long string of successes for Beccy, whose talents as a singer, songwriter and performer have taken her to the forefront of Australian country music over the past year.

She now has seven Golden Guitars on her mantelpiece, together with numerous other major awards, including 2005 Country Entertainer of the Year. When she tours, she performs sellout shows across the country, and she’s enjoyed a string of hit singles and earned two Gold Albums.

Beccy’s also rapidly building a profile for her compering work at major awards shows and for her television appearances on programs like hit ABC show Spicks and Specks and The Wiggles’ TV show (where she took on the persona of “Beccy Bluegrass”).

This dynamic, appealing singer has it all: personality, a style of her own, enormous talent as both a songwriter and a performer, and oceans of charisma — and that package is increasingly being seen as irresistible by Australians everywhere.

Yet Beccy remains down to earth, real, vulnerable and passionate — about life, music and her role in the industry. She’s also very committed to helping the new generation of Australian country artists to rise to the top.

Her latest album, Feel This Free, has been warmly welcomed by her fans, and has already spawned several hit singles. The special bonus edition of the album features “Poster Girl”, as well as two live tracks recorded at last year’s Gympie Muster, “Lazy Bones” and Beccy’s version of the Dolly Parton classic “Nine to Five”.

All four of Beccy’s albums have been critically acclaimed, and generated a string of hit singles, as well as two Gold Albums, for Little Victories and Wild at Heart.

Beccy’s even featured in a display at the Golden Guitar Wax Museum in Australia’s Country Music Capital of Tamworth — the first contemporary female star to be included in the museum.

Beccy began singing as a 14-year-old in her mum Carole Sturtzel’s band, and in 1993 took out the Tamworth Star Maker title. That year she was also a member of the Dead Ringer Band — in fact, she was busking with them when they were discovered on the streets of Tamworth.

Her Star Maker win led to the release of her debut single, “Foolin’ Around”, for which she collected her first Golden Guitar for Best New Talent at the 1994 Country Music Awards of Australia.

These days, Beccy Cole is regarded as one of the most outstanding and dynamic live artists in the Australian music industry. Her shows are so full of energy and life that they frequently rev the audience up to fever pitch, so it’s not surprising that she’s in huge demand to appear at festivals and events everywhere.
