Dancing up a storm in Country
Music Capital
Tamworth, Friday 27 April 2007:
-
On the back of a very successful event in
2006,
Australia’s biggest line dance event, the Ashby House Australian Line
Dance Festival is
returning to Tamworth on Thursday 3 – Sunday 6 May 2007 for what
guarantees to be
an even bigger showcase of all things line-dancing related.
It is expected there will be more than 600 people converging on
Australia’s Country
Music Capital in under a fortnight’s time, including a number of
guests from New
Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, USA and across every state in Australia.
“The Ashby House Australian Line Dance Festival enhances Tamworth’s
reputation as the
Country Music Capital and is an ideal event to be held on the back of
the international ly
recognised Festival given line-dancing is synonymise with country
music… there is no
better place in Australia to hold the event than Tamworth,” said Ms
Rebel Thomson,
General Manager, Tourism Tamworth.
The Ashby House Australian Line Dance Festival has grown exponentially
in the past 12
months and in 2007, will move its primary venue to the West Tamworth
Leagues Club on
Philip Street as well as continuing to hold a number of activities at
Tamworth
Shoppingworld on Bridge Street.
The four-day Festival will be jam-packed with various line-dancing
workshops, and
themed social events that all visitors are invited to take part in.
Alternatively, the
competition sections will feature some of the best line-dancers in the
world making it a
spectacular spectator sport.
There are a limited number of ticket passes available for Australia's
largest line-dancing
workshop event outside of Tamworth's January Festival; anyone
interested in taking part
is encouraged to get their tickets as soon as possible to ensure they
don’t miss out.
“The local community and business houses have been incredibly
supportive of this event
which has greatly assisted the push to keep the event in Tamworth
rather than it moving
to Sydney,” added Ms Thomson.
The Ashby House Australian Line Dance Festival received a further
boost this year with
the addition of new (and continuing) sponsors, as well as the
much-needed support of
Ashby House which has agreed to come on-board for three more years.

Dance Festival or for a
