******************
At a special committee meeting held just
before the October Walk-up concert commenced, the Country Music
Association of Canberra gave a $1,000 donation to help establish The
McKenzie Benefit Trust Fund at the Bendigo Community Bank, who have
offered their facilities free.
McKenzie is the daughter of Guy and Letice Argaet. She has been
hospitalised at Westmead Children’s Hospital requiring an urgent
transplant.
Prior to moving to Young, where he has only recently established his
own business, Guy was a strong supporter of the Country Music
Association of Canberra for many years. Starting as a youth, Guy and
his sister Rae, were introduced to Country Music by their parents,
Carol and the late Ted Argaet, who in turn were strong supporters of
the Country Music Association of Canberra since its inception.
Guy took part in and won many talent quests, and as he developed as an
entertainer, was not hesitant in helping other young musicians
progress.
A Benefit Concert is planned for Sunday November 19 at the Queanbeyan
Kangaroos Football Club, Sturt Street Queanbeyan from 11.00am to
6.00pm, with a $10.00 door charge. The Roos Club are providing their
facilities at no cost.
