- Multi-award winning artists Gina Jeffreys,
Beccy Cole and Sara Storer have announced dates for what is being hailed
as the concert
tour of 2007.
“Songbirds” is the brainchild of the girls themselves.
They have been friends for some time and through the years have also
guested on each others live shows and recordings, so it
seemed to be a natural step for them put together a concept where they
could share the stage along with some of their individual
songs. Beccy, Gina and Sara are of course three of Australia’s most
acclaimed and successful country music singers. Between them
they have 24 Golden Guitar Awards along with a haul of ARIAs,
Entertainer of the Year, APRAs and certified Gold and Platinum sales
awards.
Audiences can not only expect to hear the hit songs from three of the
most beautiful individual voices on any stage, any where, but
will also be treated to some very special “trio” performances of songs
chosen by the girls from their own album collections.
It’s now more than a decade since Gina Jeffreys won the Toyota Star
Maker Quest, marking the start of a remarkable career that’s
taken Gina to the top of the country music industry.
She has earned numerous accolades, performed to sell-out crowds and sold
volumes of records.
But the release of an exquisite new album, ‘Walks Of Life’, heralds a
new chapter in the Gina Jeffreys story. Produced by husband Rod
McCormack, ‘Walks Of Life’ showcases a new vocal maturity on a
collection of songs that are near and dear to Gina’s heart.
There’s no disputing that Beccy Cole is the reigning poster girl of
Australian country music.
In January, Beccy’s latest hit single, the heartfelt and honest “Poster
Girl (Wrong Side of the World)”, swept all before it to take out a
remarkable three Golden Guitars at country’s most prestigious awards.
The hat trick of Golden Guitars is the latest in a long string of
successes for Beccy, whose talents as a singer, songwriter and performer
have taken her to the forefront of Australian country music
over the past year.
This dynamic, appealing singer has it all: personality, a style of her
own, enormous talent as both a songwriter and a performer, and
oceans of charisma!
Sara Storer is undoubtedly one of Australia's most unique singer /
songwriters. She defies categorization!
Since bursting onto the Australian Music scene just seven years ago with
her critically acclaimed album, Chasing Buffalo, Sara has
gone onto become one of the most awarded artists in Australian country
music history. In 2004 she took out 7 Golden Guitars for her
now platinum selling album, Beautiful Circle. She now has 9 Golden
Guitars in her collection.
In 2005 Sara released her third album, Firefly and toured Australia with
legendary Paul Kelly.
Recently Sara has been writing for her highly anticipated 4th album
which is expected to be released in the second half of 2007.

- Gina Jeffreys Remarkable Career
- It’s more than a decade since Gina Jeffreys won the Toyota Star
Maker Quest, marking the start of a remarkable career that’s not only
taken Gina to the top of the country music industry – where she still
reigns supreme – but continued to bring new surprises and successes for
this talented and vivacious woman.
After releasing her first single Slipping Away through BMG Music, Gina
signed a record deal with ABC Music and released her first single for
the label Two Stars Fell in 1993. The song went straight to No. 1 and
the career of Gina Jeffreys was launched. The album The Flame went
platinum, and the following January, Gina won her first Golden Guitar
for Female Vocalist of the Year.
During her time with ABC Country, Gina has enjoyed a dream run. She
released five albums, each one rocketing to the top of the Country
charts, and along the way gathered an impressive collection of four
Golden Guitars, four MO Awards for live performance, an APRA Award, two
Victorian Country Music Awards and CMT Video of the Year for Dancin’
With Elvis. Gina’s albums – The Flame, Up Close, Somebody’s Daughter,
Christmas Wish and Angel – have all been smash hits with her loyal band
of fans, collecting a steady stream of Gold and Platinum awards.
Gina has also been one of the most in-demand performers in Australia,
both live and on television, appearing at everything from civic
receptions to Carols by Candlelight, a string of corporate functions
and, of course, all the major country music festivals Australia-wide.
International highlights have included performing at Fan Fair in
Nashville, on a New Year’s Eve Television Special in Shanghai, China, to
over 2 billion people, and the Tour of Duty Concert in East Timor.
Her tours are always sell-out successes, with the fans seemingly unable
to get enough of Gina's performances. And Gina, is the first to admit
she leads a charmed life – performing the music she loves, and sharing
the experience with the love of her life, husband Rod McCormack.
But magic doesn’t just happen by itself – Gina has worked incredibly
hard over the past decade to develop her career, and continues to emerge
with fresh new sounds and stunning new looks to delight her fans and win
over new supporters for her music. And as the hard-working patron of the
Australian Leukemia Foundation, she and Rod have quietly been helping
sick children for several years now.
As a new era – and the new role of motherhood – unfolded for Gina
Jeffreys, the remarkable achievements of this talented women were
brought together on a must-have album for the fans: The Best of Gina
Jeffreys … So Far.
In January last year, Gina and Rod became the proud parents of a baby
boy Jackson. Since then Gina has been taking some time out of the
limelight to enjoy her new role, and to settle into a new house on the
NSW Central Coast.
But following a short acoustic show at Tamworth in January this year,
and some warm-up concerts around Sydney, Gina made her long-awaited
return to big-stage festival performing with appearances at most of the
major festivals throughout the year.
Gina has also been busy writing songs and will soon go into the studio
to record her sixth album, due out early in 2005.
