Singing for Nicole Kidman? This week Luella is heading to Bowen, where she will be performing at the Grand View Hotel, right where the street has been transformed for the making of Nicole Kidman’s new movie. Hopefully some of the cast and crew will catch the show. * * * New Songs are Ready Recording with Louie Shelton has finally finished, with the result being 3 fabulous new songs which we are all very excited about. You can listen to Outrun the Rain at Luella’s MySpace … in fact it should start playing automatically when you get there. We’d love to know what you think, so please have a listen and email us with your feedback. We’re now focusing on getting a record deal with some financial support to release the new single and make a new film clip. Keep your fingers crossed!! * * * Country Art for Cancer Various country music artists and associated media personalities have been invited to create and donate a painting or drawing expressing their own creative talent. The artwork will be publicly exhibited in Tamworth, leading up to and during the Hats off to Country Music Festival. All the works will be judged by a selected panel, which will provide an honest and fun appraisal of the donated artwork. Finally, the art will be auctioned by a guest auctioneer or auctioneers and sold during the festival. All proceeds raised will be donated to The Cancer Council NSW, to assist those that are affected by cancer. Well, look what I found… Yes, that’s me looking like Shirley Temple… I was 12 and this was my very first ‘pub’ performance. I sang two songs by a great Australian Writer John Kane - “Coalminer” and “Darlin’ Street”. They were recorded by the Australian band “The Flying Emus”, whose music I absolutely loved. I was quite terrified, but enjoyed every minute. In fact, I played at that pub right up until this year… The Walls Family, who owned the Collinsville Town and Country Hotel were amazing support for me. They sponsored my first trip to Tamworth and gave me gigs at every opportunity. They recently sold the hotel after 18 years. It was a very sad day! I have many wonderful memories of playing at the Town and Country Hotel… New Year’s Eves, Birthday Parties, and HUGE nights with my first band “Coolon Road”. More Coolon Road band stories next time! * * * Singing in the Rain I recently took the opportunity to go outside and enjoy a shower in the much needed 50mm rainfall… * * * Easter Sunday Session at Theebine Hotel Despite me suffering the dreaded flu, it was a great Sunday session…

Welcome to Luella’s Gigs, Goss & Gallery How wonderfully relaxing it was, spending special time with my loved ones! That’s what I’ve been doing over the past couple of weeks, in between a few gigs at Bowen and Hay Point. In the next few days, I’ll get back into the studio again with producer Louie Shelton to finish off some vocal tracking. Hi everyone, Firstly THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE NEW MEMBERS OF THE MAILING LIST!! Most of which we performed for in Tamworth. This year was just so wonderful down there! The response was fantastic and my band were just such a pleasure to work with! I am so glad I was able to share the experience with you! I am writing this email from the air! I am on the plane to Proserpine where I will meet my Daddy and we will head home to Collinsville. I am spending a week with my family and sooo looking forward to it, I have been extremely homesick and cant wait to get hugs from my loved ones. I haven't seen my MUMMY for a couple of months and I am missing her so much. We had a sadness in the family as my lil puppy who I have had since I was 15 passed away last week. So I am wanting some quality time with everyone up there. Musically everything is wonderful, I have been recording again this week and I just so excited about the new songs! Louie Shelton is just such a wonderful producer and it is a really great match! I am doing some gigs in north Queensland this week then heading back to Brisbane for some local shows there and to get myself back into GYM mode! since returning from Tamworth and sleeping for 2 days, I have had some timeout and need to get re energized! For those who received my last letter I DIDN'T MISS THE PLANE THIS TIME! as much as I love Hamilton island I have no interest in taking 6 hours to get home this time, though we do regularly drive up here and it takes 16 hours from Brisbane! its a few picnics and billy teas up the road! HE HE HE!! My manager Pete had a birthday last week also, his children, wife and I bought him a brand new Stihl Farmboss Chainsaw so he could get the firewood ready for winter out on our environmental reserve, it is just so peaceful out there and when it rains I tend to be running around in it, we need at least 6 inches to refill the dam as it is getting quite low, as they are in most parts of the country. So that's about it for Wella world at the moment! I am so so very grateful for your support in my LADDER CLIMB! We are working hard towards lifting my profile this year and getting some new music out there for you all! I must sign off for now as we are descending! PLEASE DROP ME A LINE! Welcome to Luella’s Gigs, Goss & Gallery What an amazing month was January… especially the 10 days of the Country Music Festival in Tamworth!!
Although totally exhausted, Luella is also totally re-energized. Seems ironic, yet performing in front of appreciative and passionate crowds is something that truly makes her heart sing. It’s what she loves more than anything in the whole wide world. So, the more energy she pours into her performances, and the more receptive the crowds are, the greater joy Luella is rewarded with. Something to do with the law of physics and energy exchange. A huge THANK YOU to all of you wonderful folk who came along to one (or more) of the many gigs Luella and The Heelers played. We hope you enjoy these photos – maybe you can see yourself in the crowd?




The BIG News
Luella is back in the studio with the infamous Louie Shelton whose signature guitar riffs and solos have been heard on more hit records than any other session guitarist in history. While there are too many to mention, some of his classics include, Boz Scaggs' "Low Down", Lionel Richie's "Hello", Neil Diamond's "Play Me", The Jackson Five's "I Want You Back", "ABC" and "I'll Be There, The Monkees' "Last Train To Clarksville" and "Valerie". Some of the other artists Louie recorded with include John Lennon, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, The Carpenters, Joe Cocker, Kenny Rodgers, The Mamas & Papas, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald and many others.

Not only did Louie play guitar on Seals & Crofts greatest hits, "Summer Breeze", "Diamond Girl", "We May Never Pass This Way Again" and "Get Closer", he produced their many Gold and Platinum albums. Some of Louie's other production credits include Art Garfunkle, England Dan & John Ford Coley, Dan Seals, Cory Wells (of Three Dog Night), Jane Oliver, The Southern Sons, Mother Hubbard and Nashville Guitars.

Now living on the Gold Coast, Louie has taken Luella under his wing and will soon be presenting her work to the big players of the Australian music market, with the intention of creating the hype and career path that this lady so richly deserves.

Luella has had lots of fun over the last month especially at her mum’s birthday, where we took these photos of her singing with her God-daughter Jodi, and also of Luella together with her sisters, mum and grandma…

Christmas was also wonderful, with Luella and her dad spending 2 days in Toowoomba with her fabulous manager, Pete, and his family. Luella slept in her faithful swag, which was very conveniently right beside the Christmas tree and all the presents!! Besides all the great gifts that Santa brought - gold earrings, perfume, a little glory box, a Tamborine, some PJs, and accessories of course - Christmas Day was very laid back, with a few games of table tennis, some great food and movies. Yet, above all else, what Luella treasures most is the unconditional love from her family and friends.



New Years Eve was spent at a gig in Glenden, North Qld, with her whole family as well as fabulous manager, Pete, and his wife. All in all, Luella drove over 6000km in the last 2 weeks of December. * * * The Dynamic Month of January With Tamworth not far away, Luella is now enjoying some time at home; resting up, working out at the gym, and drinking LOTS of green tea! She will be taking her 5 piece band, The Heelers, to Tamworth and together they are guaranteed to rock the town!! No doubt they will all sleep for 3 days sleep when the Festival is over. Luella is particularly looking forward to catching up with ‘Brooksie’ and the staff at the Tamworth Services Club and of course Fiona and the crew at Wests.
Can you believe it’s December already?? Luella has been busy writing up her naughty and nice lists in preparation for Christmas. Having been a very good girl herself this year (well, that's what she tells us) she’s hoping that Santa won’t forget her either. In order to keep up her energy levels up, for those exceptionally dynamic performances, Luella has been spending lots of time in the gym and swimming many laps of the pool. She’ll soon be heading up to North Queensland for a few gigs – and her mum’s birthday - before focusing entirely on the upcoming Country Music Festival in Tamworth. * * * Some More Photos for You We thought you might like some more photos of Luella and her fabulous band The Heelers, which were taken at Mud Bulls and Music last month. Luella and her band The Heelers have just completed two very exciting shows at the Mud Bulls & Music festival at Jimna in Southern Queensland. The first night performing with James Blundell (see photo below left) and the second on the main stage! Thanks to everyone at Mud Bulls and to the fantastic crowds at both shows, particularly those who danced and partied in the rain!!
MusicOz Awards - Close but no cigar!!
Although totally stoked with being a Top 10 finalist in the MusicOz Awards with her song “When I Found the Blues”, Luella missed out on being in the Top 5. Yet she feels honoured to have gotten to the Top 10 on her first go, and is grateful for all the beautiful messages from those who believe in her.

New Video Clip Coming Soon
Luella will begin shooting her new film clip soon with Brisbane based producer, Jason Millhouse of , Millhouse Productions who has had 15 clips in the Country Music Charts, including two in the number 1 spot. Currently in pre-production, we’re all looking forward to getting a new single and video clip out before long.
Upcoming Gigs
After some promotional performances at Harvey Norman (Bundall) this weekend, Luella has numerous club gigs lined up in South East and North Queensland. However, her main focus now is gearing up for Tamworth’s Country Music Festival in January. Stay tuned for further details.

Big Weekend for Luella at Mud Bulls & Music Luella and her band The Heelers have just completed two very exciting shows at Mud Bulls & Music at Landcruiser National Park, Jimna in Southern Queensland. As well as an appearance with James Blundell, Luella and The Heelers sang songs from her recently released self titled album together with some crowd favourites. Being an amazing vocalist, and an exceptional entertainer, Luella's vibrant yet down to earth nature yet again won the hearts of her audiences who danced and partied despite the rain. The unique 4-day event blends traditional and contemporary competition, the Bull Ride, and 4 x 4 action events with music. Add the Ute Show and the camping experience in a beautiful isolated area, and the stage is set for 4 days of intense action, excitement and entertainment. Having been a Top 10 finalist in the MusicOz Awards for "When I Found the Blues”, Luella is now focusing on the release of her second single. Hi everyone, I hope this email finds you well and happy. Just wanted to send a little email to say THANK YOU SO SO VERY MUCH for your support. In an industry that is so hard to crack your support is just so valued and appreciated. Thank you for requesting my film clip "TONIGHT" it has spent the last 4 weeks in the Top 50 on CMC! I am so excited about it! At the moment I am sitting in Brisbane Airport waiting for a flight to Hamilton Island as I missed my flight to Proserpine and its the first time I have ever missed a flight , I am devistated to say the least. Lucky I have my trusty little blue laptop to keep me company!! I am heading home to my folks for some R & R and home cooking. We have a gig up at the Bowen Fishing Classic this weekend. I am really looking forward to playing with my Band again! My manager Pete is playing drums for this one so it will be wonderful. The Gympie Muster was absolutely Huge this year and the gig was great fun!! I always get so sad when its all over!! I have recently started doing Bootcamp! It is hillarious!! Luella is currently in NORTH Queensland preparing for the BOWEN RIVER RODEO!
Luella first performed at this event at age 15!! This year they are having a huge Birthday Bash and Luella will be the entertainment ! She is looking forward to the reunion, just inland of her hometown. They are expecting a few thousand people! Her show is on Saturday night! On Sunday morning Luella will get on a plane and fly to Brisbane then her manager will be picking her up to take a 4 hour drive to GAYNDAH rodeo! Luella has performed at this event for the last 5 years! HUGE WEEKEND!!
MAY was very exciting for Luella and her Team. The film clip for LUELLA's FIRST SINGLE "TONIGHT" was accepted by the COUNTRY MUSIC CHANNEL!

Hi Everyone!
Just letting you know Luella will travelling to Adelaide this weekend for preparation to perform on

Anzac day for the "Close the Circle" Concert. A free concert held for the Vietnam Veterans Association.

Performing alongside James Blundell, Angry Anderson and more, it will be a fantastic day for any of those in

the Adelaide area. Adelaide residents can also tune to MMM in the morning,

Luella will be on air talking to the NEW ZOO breakfast crew.

Luella was featured on Channel 7 news tonight through Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and

Mackay regions. The video clip for her First single "TONIGHT" is currently in editing and we are

all so very excited about release!

Early this year LUELLA completed and released her Self titled album. We have had great feedback and a

I am shooting a film clip in a weeks time! All very exciting! I have my new album out!

Sad that I missed you in Tamworth! The year flies by so quickly! I can't believe it's April already!
I spent some time touring with James Blundell the last couple of months, it was great fun and album sales were great too!

When the clip is done I will send you some photos! Will you be going to Caboolture in May? The Muster in August?

or MUD BULLS and Music in November?? I am performing there, hopefully I will catch up with you this time!

I may even end up in Tamworth for Hats off to Country this year in July.
